New 2020 Mercedes-Benz E-Class facelift vs 2016 E-Class – What’s new?

For a start, the W213 generation model features Mercedes’s new “Sensual Purity” design language, with the biggest change to the front and rear end.

Up front, there are new LED headlights, a new bumper, and a new wider grille, which gives it a slightly sporty outlook compared to the sedate front end of the old one.

Typical of Mercedes-Benz, the front end also appears in-line with other Mercedes sedans, such as the latest CLA and CLS.

The rear end is where the update looks much more major. The previous rounded triangular taillight is now being replaced with these new horizontal ones. Rear diffuser starts from the edge of the bumper side and has a higher crease line near the tailpipe.

Expect similar updates for the upcoming S-Class.

Inside the E-Class, the biggest change is the new center infotainment control, which makes the center console look more cleaner and minimalist. Three new steering wheel options will be offered: choice of wood-leather, full-leather, or flat-bottomed. Seats are new too, with a wider side bolster for a more comfortable ride.

Two more steering wheel option for the 2020 E-Class.

The car comes with MBUX and the infotainment display now comes in two options. Depending on the decision of distributors in the individual markets, both options feature twin screens – 2x10.25-inch (bonded) and a 2x12.3-inch.

The new, flat touchpad vs the old, bulky touchpad.

Together with additional stitching for at the upper dashboard area, the rest of the interior layout remains the same.

Under the hood is a new M254 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, replacing the previous M264 engine. Also, there is an addition of integrated starter-generator (ISG) and 48-volt mild hybrid system, which adds another 20 PS of boost.

There is also a new 3.0-litre six-cylinder M256 with ISG – an E-Class first.

Expect the refreshed E-Class to be launched sometime this year in Malaysia.

Toyota's Kinto is getting bored, finds a way to make the AH30 Alphard and Vellfire sliding doors close faster

You know how some cars can be truly fantastic except for one minor detail that you just can’t overlook and it ends up ruining the entire driving experience. It could be a terrible head unit or a bad seating position. Well, some of the engineers at Toyota’s Kinto subscription service thought that could be the abysmally slow speed of the sliding doors on the previous AH30 generation of the Toyota Alphard and Vellfire. Either that or they must be getting really bored over there. Or someone has secr

Review: BYD Dolphin in Malaysia - A solid choice for EV beginners, except for one thing

You might be aware that Malaysia prohibits the import of electric vehicles (EVs) priced below RM 100,000, and this is indeed accurate. The rationale behind this policy, driven by the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry (MITI), is actually sound when you consider their goal of attracting investments in the EV sector. In the world of technology, most of the valuable stuff is in the higher-end product range. Cheaper electric cars have minimal technological sophistication; they're kind of li
