Honda Malaysia has announced a recall involving 2,784 units of the 1999 Honda Accord and 2000 Honda CR-V to replace the Takata driver front airbag inflator as a preventive measure.
Current-selling models are not affected by this recall.
The affected models are as below:
Honda Malaysia recall affected cars | |
---|---|
Model | Units affected |
1999 Accord | 1,380 |
2000 CR-V | 1,404 |
This recall is a preventive measure to prevent the possibility of the Takata front driver airbag inflator having excessive internal pressure which may lead to it failing to function properly or rupture.
Affected customers will be informed by letters and are urged to contact authorised Honda dealers to make an appointment as soon as possible. The replacement will be done free of charge.
Customers who own the models listed above but are unsure if their cars are affected can call Honda's toll free number (1-800-88-2020) or log on to www.honda.com.my / productrecall.honda.com.my.

Honda
Bought new and owned it for 3 years, Accord 2.0l. The car doesn't aged and still loving it, the best part i love is the lane watch camera, very convenient. Comfortable and I plan to keep it for a few more years. The only thing is the build quality, some part of the dashboard occasionally have some knocking sound but with the radio/music on, not too audible.
