Just a few days ago we shared spyshots of a mystery SUV. Now, more photos have emerged, solidifying claims that this may very well be the 2021 GAC Trumpchi GS3 Power testing in Malaysia.
The last round of spyshots only showed the front end, but these pics from reader Aril Hamka gives us a clearer look at the SUV, further hinting that this is the GS3 Power.
Check out the rear - the spied SUV sports a pair of roof rails and a shark fin antenna. Besides that, note the tail light design and position of reflectors and rear fog lights that resemble those on the GS3 Power.
The Trumpchi GS3 Power is a B-segment SUV made by GAC. In China, it comes with a choice of two 1.5-litre mills: one three-cylinder engine making 163 PS/235 Nm and the other, a four-cylinder one churning 168 PS/265 Nm.
Last month, Tan Chong Motor Holdings Berhad (TCMH) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) last month with GAC Motor to evaluate the possibility of TCMH distributing GAC vehicles in Malaysia and Vietnam.
Still, it's hard to say that the car's certainly launching here - one of the biggest reasons is that distributorship agreements are yet to be signed, and there is so far no company that's been setup to represent GAC in Malaysia.
If it is ever launched in Malaysia, it'll bring the fight to the Proton X50 and Honda HR-V.

Proton X50 vs Perodua Aruz: Which one is more cost-effective? Recently, my mom has been meaning to get herself an SUV, but she doesn’t want to pay more than RM80,000. Although Proton x50 and Perodua Aruz are both satisfactory, now we are struggling with which one is more worthwhile.
