Basic information

2019 honda jazz v cvt (INR.9.30 lakhs)

Reason why I bought this car

My old car a 2013 Suzuki Swift was giving me trouble (stalling, rattling noise, breaking down, etc.), also I needed an automatic car as my commute was usually in peak traffic hours and driving a manual was a pain in the ass. Therefore, I decided I needed a new ride and started my search for a new car.

Car selection process

  • I had a budget of: INR 1000000
  • Models that I have considered include: Honda jazz, amaze,  Hyundai i20

The reason why I choose this car

  • I had previously owned the last 3 generations of honda city and hence had a trust on it's reliability and refinement, this is one of the main reasons I felt comfortable in spending my money on a honda.
  • Another reason was I needed some essential features which were missing in my swift like a reverse cam, rear defogger/wiper, cruise control. Thus etc.

User experience

  • I have already done 30000km
  • The car feels quite stable on corners at high speeds, little to no body roll at all.
  • It took me sometime to get used to cvt as it is quite sluggish when compared to a manual car.
  • The car is very comfortable to drive, even after 2- hrs of driving I don't get tired.
  • The only drawbacks are low gc, and poor pickup.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Stability
  • Fuel efficiency
  • Comfortable
  • Spacious

Cons

  • Low ground clearance
  • Poor pickup
  • 6 Month service interval is annoying and unnecessary

Summary

All I can say is that no car is perfect there are drawbacks in every car, but this honda jazz meets my expectations and I never regret my decision of buying a honda.

The car feels very different from suzuki swift as the swift had inferior quality of plastic parts. The jazz has slightly soft touch plastic, also the fit and finish is much better.

Some interesting events

I recently had an incident where a stone broke Jazz's gear oil chamber, so that was a real headache as it took a whole month to fix my car, this delay was mainly due to my insurance company as they took their sweet time in approving my claim.

Toyota's Kinto is getting bored, finds a way to make the AH30 Alphard and Vellfire sliding doors close faster

You know how some cars can be truly fantastic except for one minor detail that you just canโ€™t overlook and it ends up ruining the entire driving experience. It could be a terrible head unit or a bad seating position. Well, some of the engineers at Toyotaโ€™s Kinto subscription service thought that could be the abysmally slow speed of the sliding doors on the previous AH30 generation of the Toyota Alphard and Vellfire. Either that or they must be getting really bored over there. Or someone has secr
