2020 MINI Convertible Sidewalk Edition launched in Malaysia, 20 units only!

MINI Malaysia follows up the highly anticipated launch of their MINI Convertible with a special Sidewalk Edition. The new 2020 MINI Convertible Sidewalk Edition features a more stylish colour scheme and uniquely designed equipment specifically for the special edition. The Sidewalk is limited to 20 units only.

The Sidewalk Edition is easily distinguishable from the standard MINI Convertible. Not only is the car finished in an exclusive Deep Laguna colour scheme, it is also topped off with a MINI Yours Soft-top Sidewalk that features the “Sidewalk” pattern interwoven in Titanium Grey.

Sporty stripes embellished with a geometric pattern decorate the car’s bonnet while the Sidewalk rides on 17-inch Scissor Spoke 2-tone wheels specific to the special edition.

LED headlamps along with LED front and rear fog lamps come as standard with the MINI Convertible Sidewalk Edition.

There are also plenty of limited-edition designs inside the cabin that works to remind passengers that this is a special edition.

The MINI Yours Leather Lounge Sidewalk seats are upholstered in anthracite while trims are finished with Petrol and Energetic Yellow strips. You also get a matching Petrol paint effect on the door trims and doormats.

Meanwhile, the steering wheel will bear the “Sidewalk” logo with seams in Petrol to accentuate the sportiness of the Sidewalk Edition. To add to that, the Sidewalk’s side scuttles are also unique to the special edition car.

The Sidewalk also gets a larger 8.8-inch touchscreen MINI Visual Boost with Navigation system, compared to the standard MINI Convertible's 6.5-inch touchscreen. You also get 12 Harman Kardon speakers to blast all your favourite songs in the Sidewalk.

Underneath the metal, the Sidewalk Edition mirrors the standard 2019 MINI Convertible. The Convertible is still powered by a 2.0-litre Cooper S MINI TwinPower Turbo engine that dispenses 192 PS and 280 Nm of torque.

The engine is also mated to a 7-speed Steptronic dual-clutch transmission (DCT) and gives the car the ability to make the century sprint in 7.1 seconds.

As mentioned, there will only be 20 units on sale for RM 295,888 on the road without insurance. From now until 31st December 2020, the MINI Convertible Sidewalk Edition will go for RM 285,899 thanks to the SST exemption. That’s RM 9,988 off the original price.

Toyota's Kinto is getting bored, finds a way to make the AH30 Alphard and Vellfire sliding doors close faster

You know how some cars can be truly fantastic except for one minor detail that you just can’t overlook and it ends up ruining the entire driving experience. It could be a terrible head unit or a bad seating position.
