CKD in Malaysia, exported to Thailand, G28 2023 BMW 3 Series LWB facelift (LCI) launched in Thailand

BMW Thailand has launched the long wheelbase G28 2023 BMW 3 Series facelift (LCI). As before, the G28 LCI is assembled (CKD) in BMW Group Malaysia's vehicle assembly facility in Kulim.

Two variants are available – 320Li M Sport and 330Li M Sport, priced at THB 2.759m (around RM 350k) and THB 3.099m (around RM 393k) respectively.

Bear in mind that the high prices are due to our weak Ringgit when converted from Thai baht. The actual prices when the long wheelbase G28 BMW 3 Series LCI is launched in Malaysia will likely see an increase, but not at such level.

Like the standard wheelbase G20 LCI, the appearance of the new BMW 330Li M Sport and BMW 320Li M Sport bear a more angular appearance with redesigned front and rear bumpers with slimmer headlights – LED for BMW 320Li M Sport and Adaptive LED for BMW 330Li M Sport.

Power comes from a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that makes 184 PS/300 Nm and 258 PS/400 Nm in the 320Li and 330Li respectively. Drive is sent to the rear wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Inside, both get Sensatec instrument panel with different trim finishers - black high-gloss aluminium for the 330Li and fine-wood trim oak grain open-pored for the 320Li. The 330Li gets the darker Anthracite headliner Anthracite.

There’s a 12.3-inch information display behind the steering wheel and a 14.9-inch control display merge together into the BMW Curved Display, which runs on BMW Operating System 8.

The HiFi loudspeaker system is offered in the new BMW 320Li M Sport whereas Harman Kardon Surround Sound System is present in the BMW 330Li M Sport.

Both are equipped with a range of safety and driver assistance systems, including Active Cruise Control with Stop and Go function, Parking Assistant, Park Distance Control, as well as BMW Head-up display.

Back home, BMW Malaysia has confirmed that two additional variants - the long wheelbase 330 Li and M340i - will be added to the line-up in March.
