Spied: 2020 (G20) BMW 330e M Sport – CKD, Malaysia launch imminent?

A little over a month ago, the 2020 (G20) BMW 330e was spotted in Putrajaya. Now we’re seeing multiple units of it on a trailer, which suggests a launch could be on the horizon.

From the photo, it appears to mirror the M Sport trim on the 330i along with the same 18-inch Style 790 M double-spoke Orbit Grey wheels.

Power comes from an electrified 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that packs a total output of 252 PS/420 Nm, same as the F30 but the G20 introduces an XtraBoost function that temporarily raises output to 292 PS for up to 10 seconds.

Like the F30 generation 330e, the G20 will most likely be locally-assembled (CKD) at Kulim to take advantage of Malaysia’s Energy Efficient Vehicles (EEV) incentives. If history is any indication, the 330e could be priced in between the 320i and the 330i M Sport.

• 320i Sport - RM241,794.40 (RM 248,800 with SST)
• 330i M Sport - RM286,187.48 (RM 293,800 with SST)
