The turbocharged 1.5-litre variants are codenamed RY, while the hybrid variants get the RS codename. Honda Malaysia has confirmed that it will be launching the Honda WR-V in the third quarter of this year. The A-segment SUV will be positioned below the B-segment Honda HR-V, and will be the first of its kind for Honda Malaysia. Don’t expect the A-segment WR-V to be priced lower than the B-segment Honda City though. There is already a precedence for this. After just 6 years, we bid farewell to the much-loved and successful Honda BR-V 7-seater MPV which will be discontinued in favour of the upcoming Honda WR-V in Q3 of this year. At a recent media event, Executive Coordinator Mr Yujiro Sugino explained, “Basically, we see more potential in the SUV segment below the Honda HR-V, and that is why we chose to bring in the WR-V.
