Specs for specs, for the Saga matches everything that the Bezza 2019 offers.
after two years of being on sale in sri lanka, the bezza 2019 is now the best-selling sub-1.0-litre sedan. bezza price as of the first seven months of 2019, the bezza 2019 leads the sub-1.0-litre segment in terms of new vehicle sales, across all body styles.
Developing a new sedan required a lot of investment as Daihatsu hadn’t developed any sedans for more than a decade. The last Daihatsu sedan was the Applause, which was discontinued in the late '90s. Still, Perodua’s local management understood that no further growth is possible if the company doesn’t expand beyond compact hatchbacks.
some might baulk at the bezza price (based on information published by proton and perodua) but that’s because perodua uses longer-lasting iridium spark plugs and fully-synthetic engine oil. you might pay more upfront, but the parts last longer. in any case, the bezza 2019's reliability and maintenance cost isn't something you should be concerned about. the tens of thousands of happy bezza owners will vouch for that. bezza price there is only one rival for the bezza 2019 2019, and that’s the bezza 2019 (rm 32,800 to rm 39,800). the new updated saga offers exceptionally good value.
at 100,000 km the saga flx cvt requires a bezza 2019 which amounts to bezza 2019 . parts that required changing during this service interval include engine oil, spark plugs, air filter, timing belt kit, and fead belt. this major service also incurred a higher service labour cost of rm222.
this fastback concept was presented as the bezza price concept at the 2010 kuala lumpur international motor show. fancy sliding doors and sci-fi movie-style interior aside, the dimensions and silhouette of the bezza concept was what perodua/daihatsu wanted to gauge the public’s response for.
at that time, there was an unspoken rule within the local management of perodua to exercise restraint in encroaching proton’s territory, whom the perodua sometimes respectfully refer to as its ‘elder brother.’ bezza 2019 however this was just an informal arrangement that both companies had settled into. perodua’s strength was in compact hatchbacks while proton’s forte was in sedans and both companies were minding their own business at different ends of the market but there wasn’t any regulation that said both (then) national car companies couldn’t compete with each other. bezza price at the same time, perodua’s technical partner daihatsu did not have any sedans that it owns the full intellectual property rights to. the company does sell several sedans in japan but these are rebadged toyotas, supplied by toyota under contract, and limited for sale only in japan.
following last week’s article where we traced the bezza 2019 , we now take a look at how the axia’s booted-twin, the bezza came into being. unlike the indonesian daihatsu ayla-based perodua axia, the bezza is purely a malaysian effort as there is no indonesian equivalent to the bezza.
however, the bezza claws back with its superior fuel economy, courtesy of its dual vvt-i engine and lighter curb weight. perodua says that the bezza can return up to 22 km/l with its eco idle (engine start/stop), while proton has yet to release fuel consumption figures of the new saga. this comes at a cost, as battery replacement for bezza models with eco idle is more expensive than the saga (about rm 300 for agm-type batteries) bezza price in terms of practicality, the bezza offers a thoughtful ‘handbag hook’ located on the side of the front passenger seat. at 508 litres, the bezza’s boot space is also considerably more than the saga’s 420 litres. bezza price similar to other perodua models (except the aruz), the bezza’s air-conditioning system is a multi-blower type, capable of directing cool air to the front passenger’s foot well or the windshield. the saga’s air-conditioning system is a single mode blower that blows cool air to the front passengers.
The infotainment is also quite poor, with poor user interface and graphics. In comparison, the Proton Saga’s infotainment is unusually good, with sound reproduction quality that’s far better than those found in vehicles from several segments above.
the bezza price 2019 is an entry-level a-segment sedan. underneath the body panels are underpinnings that’s shared with a perodua axia, albeit with a larger 1.3-litre engine option thrown in.
Start-stop systems help reduce fuel consumption by shutting off the engine when the car stops and restarting it when the brake pedal is released, thereby reducing idling time.
firstly, the bezza 1.0l is an ultra-lightweight machine. tipping the scale at 880 kg for the automatic variant, it’s even lighter than a bezza price which weighs in at 924 kgs. even the range-topping bezza 1.3l advance is only 930 kgs.
the third generation saga was introduced just two months after perodua unveiled the bezza, giving its core model a much-needed upgrade. bezza price earlier this week, proton launched the new saga, which is basically a mid-life update for its third-generation model.
It’s also slightly quieter than an Axia, as the sedan’s separate boot compartment provides better sound insulation of tyre noise from the rear.
Like all Perodua products, the Bezza 2019 has a stellar reputation for reliability, low running cost and high resale value. It’s a good choice for anyone looking to buy their first car.
The new Saga is also the cheapest new sedan on the market right now (RM 39,800) to offer stability control and traction control. The only Bezza variant to offer stability control and traction control is the Bezza 1.3 Advance, which is an extra RM 8,000 over the Saga.
with this feature however, the starter motor, alternator and the batteries are required to be more heavy duty to cope. and that translates to bezza price , up to 15% as acknowledged by perodua.
Unimo Enterprises, the local distributor of Perodua vehicles in Sri Lanka has sold 1,500 units of the Bezza since it was introduced in June 2017. The Perodua Axia has also been well-received by Sri Lankans, as the company has sold roughly 3,000 units of the little hatchback since 2015.
besides lowering the entry price and adding more features to the facelifted 2019 proton saga, proton has further optimised the service intervals of the saga which adds even more savings to the owners. bezza price the cost of vehicle ownership does not end at monthly repayments, road tax, and insurance, consumables such as fuel and maintenance usually takes up a big chunk of the vehicle’s running costs.
Three variants are available as Proton has consolidated the model line-up.
Over the next several years, project lumbered along in varying levels of priority – for good reasons.
In fact, for taller drivers, we reckon that the Saga is a better option as it comes with steering wheel height adjustment, making it easier to adjust the steering wheel for a more relaxed driving position. The steering wheel on the Bezza is fixed.
so why would some prefer a bezza 2019 over a cheaper bezza price then? for starters, the bezza 2019’s sedan body type offers the security of separate, lockable boot for their precious cargo. this is important especially for sales people who travel with a lot of merchandises or commercial samples.
The only downsides to it are reputation and resale value. Although it’s has been updated with Geely’s know-how, the Saga is still a legacy product of the less than stellar pre-Geely era of Proton. And early Sagas didn’t fare too well in their reputation for reliability.
the responsibility of convincing daihatsu to invest in developing a sedan fell onto the shoulders of perodua’s local management. unlike other perodua models, this project required a lot more upward push by the local management, as daihatsu was understandably rather hesitant to re-enter the sedan segment after decades of absence. bezza price the first steps in realizing the project began in a rather mundane manner. long before the first design sketch was produced, perodua spent a lot of resources conducting highly detailed market research - understanding how consumers use their proton sagas, quantifying every single aspect of the sedan’s attributes. bezza price for example, how much would a customer pay for an extra 50 mm of rear legroom, or for the benefit of a boot, and for how big of a size? bezza 2019 initially, perodua/daihatsu sought to compromise with a midway solution by using a fastback styling. a fastback offered similar utility to a sedan and the technical requirements wasn’t that big of a jump from a regular hatchback.
We’ve yet to sample the new Saga, but considering that Proton has removed the Punch-sourced CVT-type automatic, replacing it with a Hyundai-sourced 4-speed torque converter automatic, we’re expecting the new Saga to offer better refinement levels as the previous CVT was the Achilles heel of an otherwise decent little sedan.
has an inherently efficient engine - a unit from the NR family of engines - which is shared with various Toyota models and boasts the use of dual VVT-i, Teflon coating for the pistons, and iridium spark plugs.
pardon the technical stuff but what those mean is that the engine is able to sip fuel sparingly. bezza 2019 on top on those, the bezza price comes with eco idle which is perodua’s term for start-stop system. it is the cheapest car on sale to come with this feature.
although only 1.0-litre in engine capacity, the mill churns out a respectable bezza 2019 paired to either a 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual option. remember, the bezza’s positioning is a compact family sedan that’s easy on fuel and affordable to maintain, so outputs don’t really matter here. bezza 2019 if you need a spacious, practical and fuel-efficient ultra-lightweight sedan, go for the bezza. but if you’re looking for a tiny, impractical but incredibly engaging lightweight sports car, the lotus elise is what you want.
specifications for proton saga 1.3: bezza 2019 here’s a brief summary comparing the three different variants of the new proton saga.
our pick of the range is the bezza price . it is decently equipped and is significantly cheaper than the 1.3 advanced at variant, which is priced too close to a much better equipped bezza price (with six airbags).
finally, under the hood of the bezza gxtra is a 1kr-ve 1.0-litre naturally aspirated three-cylinder vvt-i petrol engine that was engineered for returning stellar fuel economy. the all-aluminium block comes with bezza 2019 that varies the intake valves timing depending on the engine load for increased performance or maximum fuel economy.
The Bezza 2019 also drives a bit quieter than the Axia, mainly because of much of road noise from the rear is insulated away from the cabin by the boot. It also offers a more powerful 1.3-litre engine option, whereas the Axia is only offered with a 1.0-litre engine.
Personally however, as long as the vibration can be felt when the engine restarts, I would turn the feature off and pay the fuel penalty. Plus, it’s always hot here.
proton has put in extensive effort into marketing the benefits and rationale to switching from their punch-sourced continuous variable transmission (cvt) to a hyundai-sourced 4-speed torque converter in the bezza price besides boasting bezza 2019 , there is also another (huge) benefit of switching to the 4at – lower maintenance. over the course of 5 years/100,000 km, the saga 4at costs rm683.90 cheaper to service compared to the outgoing saga flx cvt. with that said, the lower maintenance cost is not entirely attributed to the new transmission, but rather a combination of variables.
Both the CVT and 4AT require a transmission fluid change at the 36th month or 60,000 km mark, while the CVT fluid costs a bit more – RM77.23 more to be exact. However, the biggest contribution to the lower service costs on the facelifted Saga 4AT is the optimisation of the intervals the parts are being replaced.
Prices start from RM 34,490 but the cheapest automatic transmission variant starts at RM 36,290.
Even though it’s just in its first generation, the Bezza 2019 is a familiar and trusted nameplate. Like all other Perodua cars, the Bezza 2019 is a no-frills, fuss-free, no maintenance worries ‘just pump petrol and go’ type of vehicle.
Perodua claims 0.3 liters is saved for every 100 km travelled with the Eco Idle equipped Bezza, which is a 6% saving of fuel.
the bezza 2019 1.0l is well known for its fuel-efficient characteristics with a manufacturer claimed fuel consumption figure of bezza price (automatic variant). let us break it down to you how they’ve achieved it without even equipping the bezza auto start/stop feature.
perodua president and chief executive officer dato’ zainal abidin ahmad said, “we congratulate unimo enterprises chief executive officer and executive director mr mahesh gunathilake and his team for their hard work in promoting the brand and especially for the significant milestones they have achieved so far. we work very closely with unimo to provide product knowledge and technical training for their sales and service staff, so our valued sri lankan customers can rest assured knowing that their bezzas and axias are always in the best of hands.” bezza 2019 for the sri lankan market, only one variant of the bezza price is offered, which features a 1.0-litre vvt-i engine mated to a 4-speed automatic. perodua says that the bezza returns an average fuel economy of ‘above 21 km/l’.
After the successful launch of the Perodua Myvi in 2005, Perodua spent a good part of a decade mulling over the need to introduce a sedan. After all, Malaysia was (then) still dominated by sedans.
for starters, the touchscreen head unit does not support the “hi proton” voice command system. bezza 2019 however, it does have easyconnection, which is a method for users to mirror their phones to the head unit. users are required to download the easyconnection app from the google play store in order to use this feature. bezza 2019 similar to mirrorlink, those using easyconnection must have their phones’ display constantly turned out, in turn draining battery as most usb ports cannot charge the device quick enough to compensate for the battery draining. bezza 2019 with such a nice display in place, it would have been nice if proton included apple carplay and android auto support.
When the engine is off, the air-conditioning basically loses its cool and becomes a fan. Should the temperature rise to a certain point, the system will restart the engine.
the concept car had a compact length of less than 4 metres, which puts it between a viva and a myvi.- the only two models perodua had at that time. oddly, the bezza concept’s rear was shaped/built using parts from a third-generation toyota prius, which also had a similar fastback styling. bezza 2019 the concept was refined further into the buddyz concept, which was presented at the 2013 kl international motor show. bezza price unlike the bezza concept, the buddyz concept had a very traditional three-box sedan shape. the front-end still carried more or less the same styling cues from the bezza concept, but the rear-half was completely new. if you look closely at the c-pillar and the tail lights, it wasn’t very different from a contemporary proton saga fl.
, the bezza 2019 1.3 4at, the saga 4at is also more affordable to maintain by rm685.85 over 5 years or 100,000 km. this is largely attributed to the bezza using costlier fully synthetic (0w-20) grade engine oil and iridium spark plugs.
As an entry-level car, it’s decently equipped too, with electronic stability control fitted on the top specs Bezza Advance.
Granted, the new and updated Saga is worthy of second chances (you can’t ignore the Proton’s value proposition) but many consumers will still need a bit convincing before walking away from the trusted and proven Bezza 2019.
Our pick of the range for the new Proton Saga is the Saga Premium AT, as it includes stability control and traction control for not a lot of money.
The downside is its handling, which is poorer than an Axia. Stretching the Axia’s dimensions may have added more space, but the car can be rather nervous at highway speeds, even when judged by the standards of entry-level sedans. The Proton Saga, for example, felt a lot more planted.
For example, despite being powered by a larger 1.3-litre engine, the Saga undercuts the base model 1.0-litre variant Bezza 2019 by several thousand Ringgit.
is proton’s bread and butter model, a model that has been (and still is) the default first car option for many car buyers. bezza price that quickly changed when perodua introduced its first-ever sedan, the bezza, back in 2016. car buyers now have a new alternative to the evergreen saga.
By keeping the weight down low, the Bezza is able to get up to speed much more efficiently, conserving precious fuel in the process. The low kerb weight is complemented by the tiny 14-inch alloys (wrapped in 175/65 profile tyres) which help keep rolling resistance low.
The production Bezza was launched in July 2016. The culmination of a journey that took more than 5 years.
new transmission aside, ride and handling has always been proton’s hallmark and the saga is no different. bezza price similar to the more expensive iriz and persona duo, the saga takes road irregularities with ease, soaking up bumps without affecting passengers too much. bezza price even when driven hard, the saga remains as a capable machine as grip levels are pretty decent, while the hydraulic power steering provided ample feedback. bezza 2019 when it comes to choosing between the new saga or the bezza price, either car would be a great option.
The facelifted Saga 4AT also requires having these parts changed but are now spread out across different intervals to lower the burden on the customers. Proton engineers emphasised that despite some parts like the Timing Belt Kit are extended to 66-months/110,000 km before being replaced, it does not compromise on the car’s reliability, performance, and safety.
For those who values ride comfort, the new Saga offers a superior ride comfort over the Bezza. Similar to the Myvi, the Bezza’s ride is considerably harsher, while handling is nothing to write home about.
