Purchasing is the start of new car ownership, but maintenance is where the challenge lies. Fortunately, the company has released its estimated service maintenance costs on their official site and to our surprise, the X70 1.8-litre 2WD is costlier to maintain than its closest competitor, the Honda CR-V 1.5-litre 2WD.

Not only that, but the X70 Premium 2WD is also furnished with Nappa leather seats, 9-speaker JBL surround sound system, panoramic sunroof, powered driver’s seat and 19-inch alloy wheels. Very premium stuff.

According to the introduction schedule of these three Chinese models, we believe that the next Proton model to be launched later this year should be Geely Binyue, followed by Jiaji in 2020. Of course, their original names will be deleted when it comes to the overseas market.

Geely's flagship sedan is Geely Borui, a Class D sedan like the Camry/Accord. The car is equipped with a 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine and a 3.5-litre V6 engine, both with a naturally aspirated engine and a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which can be used as a light hybrid or plug-in hybrid.

The Aruz also scores well in the safety department with all variants receive 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Control and anti-snatch hook as standard. Kudos to Perodua for not skimming on safety equipment.

priced at rm 99,800, the x70 standard 2wd undercuts even the cheapest x70 2019 on sale (1.8l e, rm 108k). yet it still comes with all the feel-good stuff like 1.8-litre turbo, dual-zone automatic climate control, lcd instrument cluster, drive mode selector, 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic headlamps,  x70 price and online connectivity.

proton had previously mentioned that the company is interested in producing world-class cars with international x70 2019 competitiveness x70 price , with no desire to compete with the local make perodua, but an international car like honda. it's likely that proton may exit the compact car market. however, further examinations by  x70 2019 li show that proton will certainly not give up this part, which currently dominated by perodua axia, bezza and myvi.

There are a total of four variants to choose from, all using the same powertrain.

The closest competitor to the Aruz will have to be the Honda BR-V and its twin sibling, the Toyota Rush. The BR-V offers a more composed and car-like driving characteristic and is also more fuel efficient, but its kit count (only 2 airbags) is nowhere near what the Aruz has. Not to mention it is also RM 10,000 more expensive.

However, if you can make do without ASA 2.0 and leather trimmings in the cabin, the entry-level 1.5 X will suffice.

the x70’s body and chassis is also unrelated to any volvo vehicle. some of the driving aids like the blind spot detection system is shared with volvo (only because they use the same supplier) but other features like autonomous emergency braking and adaptive cruise control are different from those used by volvo, which because of its premium positioning, is of course far more sophisticated, capable of detecting not just adult pedestrians but also children, large animals, vehicles coming down the wrong way, as well as stepping in to make evasive steering maneuvers.   x70 2019 however, some smaller items like the instrument panel, are adapted from older generation volvo vehicles.

the x70 price is priced at rm 99,800 - 123,800 and comes in four variants, offering a five-year unlimited mileage warranty.

Of course, you can still use Spotify via Bluetooth, while Waze and Google maps can still be shown using MirrorLink (Android phones only). The downside is that MirrorLink drains your smartphone’s battery faster as the phone’s screen needs to stay on throughout.

contrary to popular belief, the x70 price is not, and never will be a direct competitor to the aruz. the two exist in a vastly different price bracket and segment which appeals to a different type of buyers. drawing parallels between the two simply because they’re national cars is unfair to both the cars.

the two-wheel-drive model has an acceleration time of 10.5s per 100km and fuel x70 price consumption of 7.8l per 100km. there is no data on the awd model. the car is also recognized as an energy efficient vehicle (eev).

The CKD X70 is likely to be introduced sometime in the last quarter of 2019.

although the existing geely smart ecosystem (gkui) infotainment system found in the x70 is built on the android platform, the infotainment system lacks any form of google services, so no google maps, waze or even spotify. instead users have to make do with baidu maps and tencent's joox music streaming service.  x70 price there are rumours circulating on some sites that proton will be replacing our malaysian market x70’s x70 2019 with a smaller 1.5-litre turbocharged engine mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.  x70 price that is not true as the downsized engine is meant for export markets where cars are taxed based on co2 output figures, such as australia, thailand, and singapore. our local market x70 price will soldier on with the existing 1.8-litre turbocharged engine mated to the 6-speed torque converter automatic.

when you come to the interior, you will find that it is basically the same as geely bo yue. a slightly undulating x70 price console is designed from the bridge in hangzhou, china. there is also a flat-bottom steering wheel.

as such, the ckd version of the x70 2019 will likely benefit from local sourcing of several components such as new wheels and a new infotainment system with support for apple carplay and android auto. a power tailgate could also be offered on the ckd version of the x70, as rivals such as the honda cr-v and mazda cx-5 already offer such a feature.

With the “Hi Proton” command, the user can control many car functions of the entire car, such as controlling air condition, playing music, setting navigation, and even open/close windows and sunroofs.

We hence believed that Saga (and Persona) will continue to fight until the next decade, but small adjustments/upgrades can be expected.

    Leather wrapped and a good arm support but unfortunately, the storage space within is a little small.

    With a driver seat set at a standard 30 cm space between the seat and the steering column, the rear seats still provides 3 tennis balls worth of legroom for a person of 175 cm height and 2 tennis ball worth of headroom. 


    Proton has installed new power tailgate to solve the problem of the heavy tailgate, only the Standard variant miss out on this feature. Both Premium and Premium X variant also has the convenient hands-free opening feature.
