While we’re eagerly waiting for the all-new 2020 Honda City to arrive in Malaysia, owners of the fifth-generation Honda City in Thailand have been getting creative with it.
RS-R is a modification and tuning company based in Japan and has graced the Honda City with some flashy bits. The whole car gets RS-R livery, a front bumper lip, side skirts, and new wheels with sticky rubbers. It is also lowered, which could be achieved through RS-R coilovers.
Inside, there’s a pair of Recaro seats replacing the stock units and that’s about it for the interior.
In Thailand, the Honda City is powered by a 1.0-litre turbocharged 3-cylinder engine that makes 122 PS and 173 Nm of torque. Transmission duty is handled by a CVT.
However, since emission regulations in Malaysia are less strict, it is unlikely that we will be getting the engine. Instead, we’ll probably see the 1.5-litre engine being carried over to the 2020 Honda City.
The 2020 Honda City is expected to arrive in our shores sometime this year. Given the pandemic situation, a late-2020 launch is possible.
