Geely Preface nets 10k bookings in just 20 days

The Geely Preface is well on its way to becoming one of China’s most popular cars. Not only did it won the 2021 Chinese Car of the Year award, but it has also gathered a huge order book and is well on its way to joining China’s 10,000-car club. And it’s only been a month since the launch of the car!

Sold as the Geely Xing Rui in China, an article posted on Baidu quoted a Geely executive that the Xing Rui has already sold over 7,000 units since its launch in November 2nd.

The executive also revealed that they received over 10,000 bookings within 20 days after the launch.

With its explosive popularity also came a minor problem for Geely, at the moment Geely is having problems producing enough units to satisfy the demand.

It is believed that the company is currently making plans to ramp up production to meet the growing demand for the Xing Rui.

To recap, the Geely Preface measures 4,785 x 1,869 x 1,469 mm in length, width, and height while the wheelbase measures 2,800 mm. In context, the Toyota Corolla Altis measures 4,630 x 1,780 x 1,435 mm in length, width, and height, the wheelbase measures 2,700 mm.

It features Geely’s brand new design language and is built on the popular CMA platform, shared with the Volvo XC40.

Power comes from a 2.0TD turbocharged direct fuel injection engine that produces 190 PS and 300 Nm. The engine is mated to a 7-speed DCT that sends power to the front wheels.

The car also features the company’s latest Firmware Over the Air (FOTA) updates, meaning the car will always stay up to date as the company rolls out updates over the years.

Do you see the Geely Preface as the successor to the Proton Preve or Proton Perdana

Toyota's Kinto is getting bored, finds a way to make the AH30 Alphard and Vellfire sliding doors close faster

You know how some cars can be truly fantastic except for one minor detail that you just can’t overlook and it ends up ruining the entire driving experience.
