The Honda Jazz will soon be no more on sale in the Philippines, as confirmed by Filipino website autoindustriya.com. At the same time, Honda Cars Philippines has confirmed on its Facebook page that it will be launching the Honda City Hatchback on April 20, just one week from now.
The Filipino-specs left-hand drive Honda City Hatchback will be imported, either from Thailand or Indonesia, as Honda has since shut down its plant in the Philippines.
Specifications will most likely mirror what’s offered in Indonesia, meaning that it will be powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated DOHC 4-cylinder i-VTEC, but minus the 5-speed manual transmission option available in Indonesia (outgoing Filipino Jazz is only offered with a CVT).

Closer to home, Honda Malaysia still sells the Honda Jazz, but the model is outsold by the newer Toyota Yaris, which controls 73 percent of Malaysia’s non-national B-segment hatchback market.
We expect Honda Malaysia to introduce the City Hatchback in the later part of 2H 2021. As the model will be locally-assembled in Pegoh, Melaka, a longer lead time is necessary before the model can be launched here.

Specifications will of course mirror what’s currently offered in the City sedan – a 121 PS / 145 Nm naturally 1.5-litre DOHC 4-cylinder i-VTEC paired to a CVT-type automatic. A gearbox-less two-motor full hybrid e:HEV RS variant could also be offered, mirroring the sedan’s line-up.
