Spied: New 2020 Honda CR-V facelift seen in Vietnam, Malaysia debut by 2021?

For the very first time, the new 2020 Honda CR-V facelift has been spotted in the ASEAN region, more specifically in Vietnam.

Indeed, these set of photos surfaced from Vietnam’s Registry Department, indicating that Honda Vietnam will be introducing the new model there soon.

Interestingly, the documents also point out that the new CR-V facelift will be locallly-assembled by Honda Vietnam at its Vinh Phuc plant. At the moment, the Honda CR-V sold in Vietnam is imported from Thailand.

For the Vietnam market, the new CR-V facelift will be available in 4 variants – E, G, L, and LSE, with the latter being a new addition. The facelifted CR-V also gains revised 18-inch alloy wheels, in addition to the new front and rear bumpers.

All variants are powered by an E85 ethanol-compatible L15BG 1.5-litre VTEC Turbo four-cylinder petrol engine that does 190 PS and 243 Nm.

No word on when will Honda Vietnam introduce the facelifted CR-V, but considering that dealers in Vietnam are offering massive discounts, hinting that a debut is around the corner.

Back in Malaysia, the updated Honda CR-V may not arrive before 2020 ends, making a 2021 debut more likely. Bear in mind that apart from the updated CR-V, Honda Malaysia also has the all-new City (and likely City Hatchback) in the pipeline as well.

Vehicles sold by official channels in Vietnam are left-hand drive, so right-hand drive markets like Malaysia need to wait until the model is introduced in Thailand.
