BMW Thailand has introduced the BMW 220i Gran Coupe Sport, which is locally-assembled and sits below the 220i Gran Coupe M Sport. The BMW 218i Gran Coupe variant has been dropped from the line-up.
Back in early 2020, The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe was launched in Thailand with only one variant – the fully-imported 218i M Sport. The locally-assembled BMW 220i M Sport arrived towards the end of 2020.
Which means currently, only 2 variants of the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe are offered in Thailand – 220i Sport and 220i M Sport, priced at 1,999,000 baht (RM 264k) and 2,169,000 baht (RM 286k) respectively.
Power comes from the B48 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that makes 192 PS/280 Nm, mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. 0-100 km/h is dispatched in 7.1 seconds and tops out at 238 km/h.
Inside, the 220i Sport features the BMW Live Cockpit Plus system with an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment display and a 5.1-inch display flanked by analogue dials. It gets single-zone automatic climate control and powered front seats.
Safety wise, the Driving Assistant package is omitted hence no ADAS for the 2 Series Gran Coupe. It does, however, come with the Parking Assistant feature.
