The ongoing sales and service tax (SST) exemption / discount for new vehicles in Malaysia ends on 31-December 2021, so if you're buying a brand-new one – or in this case, a Honda – you need to have it registered by then to qualify for the rebate.
Under this, locally-assembled (CKD) cars are fully SST-exempt, while fully-imported (CBU) vehicles are subject to a 50 percent SST discount.
Checks with sources close to the matter reveal that those purchasing a Honda City and Honda HR-V can get their cars by 31-December 2021, which fortunately is still in the rebate period.
Meanwhile, there's only a minimal waiting period for the Honda BR-V and Honda Accord too.
Customers of the Toyota Corolla Cross also have a minimal wait time, and dealers reveal that those who've placed an order should be able to get their units by 31-December 2021.

The same can't be said for Proton however. Wait times for the Proton X70 extends between two to three months, and about five to six months for the Proton X50.
