Just a few days after the pair of 2021 Volkswagen Golf TSI R-Line and Golf GTI (Mk 8) were spotted in Kuala Lumpur, Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) has opened registration of interest (ROI) for both models.
As explained in our earlier report, these eight-generation Golfs will be locally-assembled (CKD Pekan, Pahang), a return to Malaysian assembly since the Mk1 Golf of the 1970s.

Prices for these cars are still yet to be announced, though its expected to be lower than the last-gen, imported Mk7.5 models, but maybe not as much as expected because of the addition of newer features.
For reference, the Mk7.5 Golf 1.4 TSI was last priced at RM 174,100, while the Golf GTI retailed at RM 240,030.

A launch date for the Mk8 Golf models is still under wraps, but as usual, we'll bring you more as we have it.
