    Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace – Overview

    The Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace is a 7-seater compact crossover SUV produced by the German automaker Volkswagen. With 2 extra seats compared to the regular Tiguan, the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace opens the door for more spontaneous moments no matter you are travelling with lots of luggage or companions. 

    There are two variant which are the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace Highline that comes with a 1.4 liter TSI engine and the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace R-Line that has a more powerful 2.0 liter TSI engine. The Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace has a couple of rivals such as the Nissan X-Trail, Peugeot 5008, Hyundai Santa Fe, Kia Sorento and Mazda CX-8.

    The Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace Highline comes with chrome roof rails, electrically folding and adjustable side mirrors, contrast coloured side mirror housings, front and rear fog lights, LED headlamps with dynamic headlight range control, LED daytime running lights, LED tail lights with 3D effect, 18 inch Nizza alloy wheels with 235/55 R18 tyres and rain sensors with automatic wipers.

    The Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace R-Line gets additional headlamp washer system, Automatic headlight activation with ‘Leaving Hone’ function and ‘Coming Home’ function, 19 inch Sebring alloy wheels with 255/45 R19 tyres, twin exhaust tailpipes, R-Line bumpers and sill extension and R-Line black rear spoiler. The Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace has a ground clearance of 201 mm and weighs at 1,560 kg.

    The interior of the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace Highline has a multifunctional steering wheel wrapped in leather with shift paddles, adjustable front driver’s center armrest with storage, Dark Grid inserts for dashboard and front door trim panels, folding tables on back of front seats, LED interior ambient light, auto-dimming rear view mirror, electromechanical parking brake with Auto Hold, illuminated aluminium scuff plates, 12-ways electric adjustable driver seat with memory and Vienna leather seat upholstery with top comfort seats. 

    The Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace R-Line variant gets additional 12-ways electric adjustable seat for the front passenger, smart entry for driver seat, R-Line leather wrapped multifunctional sports steering wheel with pedal shifters, R-Line stainless steel pedals, R-Line aluminium scuff plates, R-Line Black headliner and R-Line Vienna leather seat upholstery with top comfort sport seats. The Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace has a trunk space of 230 liters in seven-seat mode, 700 liters in five-seat mode and 1,775 liters with all rear seats folded down.

    The Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace has safety features such as Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Brake Assist, anti-theft alarm system with immobiliser, interior monitoring and towing protection, cruise control system with speed limiter, Driver Alert System, Electronic Stability Control (ECS), Engine Drag Torque Control (EDTC), ISOFIX Child seat anchor, multi-collision brake system and traction control (ASR) with Electronic Differential Lock (EDL).

    Infotainment

    The Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace has an eight inch Composition Media touchscreen display that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto via App-connect, Volkswagen Digital Cockpit, Bluetooth interface, USB-C charging port, standard USB port x3, voice control and eight speakers sound system.

    The Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace Highline has a 1.4 liter TSI engine that produces 150 PS from 5,000 rpm to 6,000 rpm and a torque of 250 Nm from 1,500 rpm to 3,500 rpm. On the other hand, the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace R-Line has a 2.0 liter TSI engine that produces 220 PS from 4,500 rpm to 6,200 rpm and 350 Nm of torque from 1,500 rpm to 4,400 rpm.

    Transmission

    The Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace Highline has a six speed Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) wet dual-clutch gearbox while the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace R-Line has a seven speed Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) gearbox.

    Chassis

    The Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace is based on a unibody SUV chassis construction. The front suspension is McPherson and the rear suspension is Multilink.

    Drivetrain

    On the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace Highline, power is transferred to the front wheel while on the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace R-Line, the power goes to all wheels, also known as the 4MOTION All Wheel Drive.
