I bought my second hand 2008 Honda Accord back in 2017 when I was 19 years old. The reason why I bought it was because it was big and looked domineering.

How it looked like when I bought it

Soon after purchasing the car, I met a bunch of friends and joined their team, which came to be known as Team Lowered. We then started our journey to make our cars beautiful. In the earlier days, all I did was change the rims and lower the car a little with the help of coilovers.

The beginning

Soon I met a few friends who were in love with ‘stance’. We got together for a few gatherings, and the looks of my Accord changed over time. From body kits to rims, it was a slow process.

Somewhere in the middle

Soon after, we decided to join the International Auto Modified, IAM for short, which was held in JB. This was a big event, no doubt. I had to do something to my Accord to make it stand out a little. It had to be nice, and it had to be fierce.

So, in the end, I decided to go with something along the lines of Thai Styling. If you’re not familiar with Thailand’s car modification trends, this is a good time to find out. Thai people like to put carbon fibre on everything – carbon bonnets, fenders, doors, GT wings, mirrors and trunks. They also love gauges on their dashboard. Did I mention that they love titanium as well?

That’s what I did. I went online to find Thai suppliers in order to custom make parts for my Accord, which turned out pretty well. They were all slowly shipped to Malaysia, and slowly assembled when I had the time.

The end (For now)

Currently, it has Akana made carbon fenders and bonnet. A custom front bumper was also made for my Accord.

The interior is graced with various titanium bits including bars, handles and the steering wheel.

The Bride Cuga seats are really comfy

Remember when I said they liked gauges?

The rims are Thai made Volk Racing TE37s, and behind them are 6 piston AP Racing brakes. Camber in the rear is a must for stance builds.

Toyota's Kinto is getting bored, finds a way to make the AH30 Alphard and Vellfire sliding doors close faster

You know how some cars can be truly fantastic except for one minor detail that you just canโ€™t overlook and it ends up ruining the entire driving experience. It could be a terrible head unit or a bad seating position. Well, some of the engineers at Toyotaโ€™s Kinto subscription service thought that could be the abysmally slow speed of the sliding doors on the previous AH30 generation of the Toyota Alphard and Vellfire. Either that or they must be getting really bored over there. Or someone has secr
