Well there's one segment Toyota has got some catching up to do: the Thais have voted with their wallets to crown their favourite C-segment sedan of 2022, and it's the Honda Civic (FE).
10,338 units of the Civic found new owners there last year. Of those, the 1.5-litre turbo variants outsold the e:HEV hybrids – 7,488 units to 2,850 units. Then again, the hybrid variant was only added there in June.

Still, the combined figure edges far ahead of the Toyota Corolla Altis, which only mustered 6,655 units. The Mazda 3 remains a distant third, with only 1,553 units sold. Honda's achievement is made all that much more clear, despite the huge taxi fleet order advantages in favour of the Corolla.
Market-wide though, Toyota still remains Thailand's best-selling brand, with a total of 288,809 units. Honda is in third place with 82,842 units in total, behind Isuzu which sold 212,491 units in the Kingdom last year.
