Pengguna ATV perlu daftar kenderaan untuk peroleh VOC, walaupun untuk kegunaan off-road

Pengguna kenderaan jenis All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) dijemput untuk mendaftarkan kenderaan masing-masing walaupun kenderaan tersebut lebih sinonim dengan aktiviti lasak off-road.

Dalam satu pemantauan terhadap aktiviti pemeriksaan dan pengujian kenderaan jenis All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) oleh Ketua Pengarah Pengangkutan Jalan Malaysia, YBhg. Dato’ Zailani Hj. Hashim, kenyataan itu dibuat oleh beliau berdasarkan undang-undang.

Merujuk kepada Seksyen 7, Akta Pengangkutan Jalan 1987, ia menjelaskan bahawa tiada seorang pun boleh memiliki atau mengguna sesuatu kenderaan motor melainkan kenderaan itu telah didaftarkan.

Kegagalan mematuhi kepada undang-undang tersebut, boleh didenda tidak kurang daripada RM2,000 dan tidak lebih daripada RM10,000.

Bukan itu sahaja, YBhg. Dato’ Ketua Pengarah menjelaskan kebaikan pendaftaran kenderaan motor bagi kegunaan off-road kerana ia membolehkan pemilik kenderaan tersebut memiliki bukti pemilikan melalui Sijil Pemilikan Kenderaan (Vehicle Ownership Certificate) dan layak mendapat pembiayaan dari institusi perbankan/kewangan.

Berdasarkan prosedur pemeriksaan dan pengujian Vehicle Type Approval (VTA), setiap kenderaan jenis ATV wajib mematuhi setiap peruntukkan undang undang di bawah Akta Pengangkutan Jalan 1987 dan Kaedah-Kaedah Kenderaan Bermotor (Pembinaan Dan Penggunaan) 1959, terutamanya berkaitan identiti kenderaan di mana nombor casis hendaklah diketuk pada rangka utama dan nombor enjin hendaklah diketuk pada blok enjin kenderaan.

“JPJ akan sentiasa menyokong perkembangan industri sukan ATV dan akan membantu semua pemain industri tempatan bagi mendapatkan kelulusan VTA”, tambahnya.

Untuk rekod, sehingga bulan Jun 2022, JPJ telah meluluskan sebangak 3 Syarikat Pengeluar ATV untuk didaftarkan sebagai off-road iaitu Promas Technology Sdn Bhd, CFMOTO dan WMOTO.
