BMW Group Malaysia adalah pengeksport kereta premium terbesar di Asia Tenggara!

Kilang BMW Group Malaysia di Kulim, Kedah kini adalah pengeksport kenderaan premium terbesar di Asia Tenggara. Sejak 2018, sebanyak lebih 6,000 BMW dan MINI yang dipasang di Malaysia telah dieksport ke luar.

Kalau anda nak tahu, kilang itu sendiri sudah beroperasi sejak 2008. Tahun lepas pula menandakan peristiwa bersejarah yang mana produksi kereta sudah mencecah 100,000 unit. Untuk makluman anda, eksport mereka yang bermula sejak 2018 adalah untuk Thailand dan Filipina. Dalam tahun sama, BMW juga membuka kilang pemasangan enjin.

Kilang tersebut terletak di kampus pemasangan automotif milik Sime Darby Motors dan Bermaz (milik Inokom), iaitu di kilang enjin Sime Darby Auto Engineering. Kiranya, kilang ini terletak bersebelahan dengan bangunan pemasangan kenderaan BMW.

Menurut BMW, kilang di Kulim mereka adalah antara yang terbaik di Asia. Disebabkan inilah mereka ditugaskan untuk membekalkan kereta pandu belah kanan (RHD) ke Thailand dan kereta pandu belah kiri (LHD) untuk Filipina.

Dalam acara 2023 Business Briefing semalam iaitu ketika majlis pelancaran BMW 3 Series facelift (LCI) berlangsung, Pengarah Urusan, Hans de Visser berkata bahawa kilang Kulim telah mengeksport lebih 6,000 kenderaan (kumulatif) dan merupakan pengeksport kereta premium terbesar di Malaysia.

Kata beliau, “Setakat hari ini, kami telah menyerahkan lebih 6,000 unit kepada negara jiran seperti Thailand dan Filipina, sekaligus meletakkan kami sebagai pengeksport kereta premium terbesar di rantau ini. Kami kiranya pengeluar premium eksport No.1 di Malaysia”.

Mengenai kilang enjin di Kulim, ia memasang nadi petrol 3 silinder B38, petrol B48 (termasuk hibrid plug-in) dan diesel B47.
