Video: All-new 2020 Honda Accord 1.5 Turbo Closer Look, Most Powerful D-Segment!

The launch of the all-new 10th generation 2020 Honda Accord has been a long time coming for Honda Malaysia as our friends over in Thailand has had the car for almost a year now.

Unlike the Toyota Camry and Mazda 6 which are fully imported, the Accord is locally assembled in Pegoh, Melaka. However, Honda’s flagship sedan still commands a premium price tag of RM 185,900 for the 1.5 TC variant and RM 195,900 for the 1.5 TC-P variant.

Compared to the previous generation Accord, prices have gone up by some RM 26,000 to RM 37,000, but so are the specifications.

As standard, both variants of the Accord get the 1.5-litre four-cylinder VTEC Turbo petrol mill and CVT automatic that dishes out 201 PS and 260 Nm. This makes the all-new Accord the most powerful petrol-powered car in the Segment and for only a mere annual road tax of RM 90.

In the new-generation Accord, Honda has introduced new features to make the car more tauke-friendly. The front passenger seat now comes with a shoulder ‘boss switch’ while the rear passengers now have two USB charging ports.

In-car entertainment is handled by an 8.0-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system (with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto) linked to 11-speakers.

Separating the two Accord variants is the Honda Sensing Advanced Driving Assistance System which bundles Forward Collision Warning, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control with Low Speed Follow and Lane Keeping Assist.

There’s also the Smart Parking Assist System which is essentially an auto parking feature (for parallel and perpendicular) in the most expensive variant.
