2022 VW Tiguan Allspace, now with 3 variants - Here's a breakdown of the differences

Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) has just announced the 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace Life variant that slots in below the Elegance variant, making it the most affordable in the line-up.

Currently, VPCM offers three variants of the 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace – Life, Elegance, and R-Line, priced at RM 173,590, RM 180,590, and RM 226,073 respectively. Here’s a brief walkthrough of the spec differences between all three variants.

2022 Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace Life 1.4TSI

Starting with the Life variant, it gets LED headlights and taillights, silver-painted side mirrors, and 18-inch Frankfurt alloy wheels.

Inside, standard equipment includes fabric seats, the 9.2-inch Discover Pro infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, triple-zone Climatronic air-conditioning system, and powered tailgate.

Safety wise, it has 6 airbags, stability control, ABS, BA, multi-collision brakes, Intelligent Crash Response System (ICRS). ADAS is made up of Lane Assist and Driver Alert systems.

2022 Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace Elegance 1.4TSI

Moving on to the Elegance variant, no changes on the exterior compared to Life but inside, it adds leather seats with heating/ventilation function, 12-way power adjustable driver seat with memory function, 11.7-inch digital instrument cluster, and ambient lighting.

Powertrain for both Life and Elegance comes in the form of a 1.4-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that makes 150 PS/250 Nm, mated to a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission.

2022 Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace R-Line 4Motion 2.0TSI

Lastly, the range-topping R-Line. It gets the R-Line exterior kit with 19-inch wheels. Inside, it adds a 10-speaker 480-watt Harman Kardon sound system.

In terms of technology, it features adaptive suspension with Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) that gets the additional modes of On-road, Off-road, Off-road Expert and Snow together with the regular Eco, Normal, Sport and Individual.

There’s also automatic start/stop system with regenerative braking. On the safety side, it gets an additional knee airbag for the driver for a total of 7 airbags.

The R-Line is motivated by a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with 220 PS/350 Nm. This time though it’s fed to all four wheels (AWD) as 4Motion suggests with 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
