Pengecualian SST punca ramai beli kereta mendadak, hutang isi rumah Malaysia kini cecah 89 peratus!

Kementerian Kewangan baru-baru ini mendedahkan kadar hutang isi rumah dengan keluaran dalam negara kasar (KDNK) berada pada 89 peratus setakat Disember 2021. Peratusan tinggi itu didorong terutamanya oleh pinjaman perumahan dan kenderaan.

Menurut laporan Free Malaysia Today (FMT), kementerian itu berkata insentif cukai jualan dan perkhidmatan (SST) yang diperkenalkan kerajaan serta faedah lain yang ditawarkan telah mendorong pembeli membeli lebih banyak kereta dan rumah.

Pengecualian cukai SST diperkenalkan apabila Malaysia memasuki Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan Pemulihan (PKPP) pertama pada tahun 2020. Insentif itu menyaksikan pengecualian SST sepenuhnya untuk kenderaan penumpang pemasangan tempatan (CKD) manakala kenderaan penumpang import sepenuhnya (CBU) mendapat diskaun SST 50 peratus.

Walaupun Kempen Pemilikan Rumah berakhir pada 31-Disember-2021, insentif SST untuk kenderaan penumpang telah dilanjutkan sehingga Jun 2022.

Kementerian Kewangan juga menyatakan bahawa pandemik Covid-19 dan ketidaktentuan ekonomi telah menyukarkan kebanyakan rakyat Malaysia untuk membayar pinjaman mereka.

MoF turut menambah bahawa Bank Negara Malaysia telah pun mengambil langkah untuk mengurangkan tekanan kewangan dan memastikan ansuran ini dapat dikekalkan untuk jangka masa panjang.

Hutang isi rumah 89 peratus kepada kadar KDNK pada akhir 2021 sebenarnya adalah pengurangan sebanyak 4.2 peratus daripada akhir tahun sebelumnya. Pada akhir tahun 2020, kadar itu berada pada 93.2 peratus.

Sebagai perbandingan, kadar hutang isi rumah berada pada 82.7 peratus pada tahun 2019, 82 peratus pada tahun 2018, dan 82.6 peratus pada tahun 2017.

Kerajaan juga menasihatkan mereka yang mengalami masalah perancangan kewangan untuk mendapatkan kaunseling daripada Agensi Kaunseling dan Pengurusan Kredit (APKP).
