SST-free prices to end on 31-Dec – What’s the waiting period for the Proton Saga and Exora?

By now most of you would know that the ongoing semiconductor shortage has affected a number of car manufacturers, though in some cases, the severity is model-dependent.

Case in point is Proton. While the Proton X50 and X70’s waiting period stretches well into 2022, other Proton models have a much shorter waiting period.

According to Proton dealers we spoke to, those who booked a Proton Saga or Proton Exora has minimal waiting period, though this is still dependent on variant and location. It’s still highly recommended to check with your respective dealership to confirm stock availability.

As for the recently-launched new Proton Iriz and Proton Persona, the waiting times are much shorter than the Proton X50 or X70.

For buyers of the Proton X50, chances to qualify for the SST rebate are low, while those who booked an X70 and are willing to accept any colour can potentially qualify for the SST rebate. Buyers of other Proton models like the Saga, Exora, Iriz, or Persona, qualifying for the SST rebate is much easier.
