CKD 2022 Porsche Cayenne - Inside the first plant outside of Europe to build a Porsche

Sime Darby and Porsche today rolled out the first locally-assembled (CKD) 2022 Porsche Cayenne for the Malaysian market. This marks the first assembly facility for Porsche vehicles outside of Europe.

This follows an earlier announcement by Sime Darby and Porsche back in August 2021 when the companies announced plans to assemble the Cayenne in Malaysia.

The Sime Darby-owned Porsche facility in Kulim is staffed by a team of 100 percent Malaysian, Porsche-trained talent.

The assembly is further supported by a network of local suppliers and service providers in the area, empowering the future of the local community with job opportunities, upskilling prospects, and potential for further expansion.

The first 100-plus units of the locally-assembled 2022 Porsche Cayenne have already been sold out within a week of its launch.

Prices of the CKD 2022 Porsche Cayenne start from RM 550,000. It is powered by a turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 that churns out 340 PS and 450 Nm, mated to an 8-speed automatic that drives all four wheels.
