D27A All-new 2022 Perodua Alza teased, launch imminent?

Roughly a week after leaked photos of the D27A all-new 2022 Perodua Alza circulated on social media sites, Perodua has now teased the imminent arrival of the new B-segment MPV.

In the short 50-second video, Perodua teased multiple angles of its new MPV, including the front, side, and rear.

From the teaser, there are some details that we can spot, such as the X-themed front fascia seen on current Perodua models like the Ativa and Myvi. 

It also gets full LED headlights and what seems to be LED front fog lights. Like its Indonesian siblings, the Xenia / Avanza / Veloz, the Alza also gets 5-lug alloy wheels, though exact wheel size is unknown at this point of time.

What we do know is that the upcoming all-new D27A Alza will have a sister model in the form of the Toyota Veloz. The latter will supersede the ageing Avanza in Malaysia.

In terms of powertrain, the all-new D27A Alza is said to be powered by a naturally-aspirated 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine that does 106 PS and 137 Nm, mated to a Dual-mode CVT (D-CVT). Drive is routed to the front wheels.

As with other modern-day Perodua model, safety features will be generous, as the Perodua Smart Drive Assist (PSDA) ADAS suite can be expected on most variants of the D27A Alza. 6 airbags are also a given.

With prices potentially starting from the mid-RM 60k mark and topping out at the RM 80k mark, the D27A Perodua Alza could very well be Perodua's most expensive model to-date, eclipsing the Ativa and Aruz in the process.
