Reasons why I bought this car

Bought in Nov 2019 as my old car of 15 years kept broke down and spending a lot of maintenance.

Car Selection Process

I had a budget of: RM40000

Models that I’ve considered included : Bezza

That time was looking for the cheapest sedan but not too small size in the market as I do not have a big budget. I was considering either Perodua Bezza or Proton Saga but Bezza cost 5k+. Decided to choose Proton Saga full spec at the good price which was slightly over 40k. Although it looks tiny from the exterior but surprisingly look quite premium inside with a numbers of improved features such as Hill Hold Assist, Eco Drive, Emergency Brake System, hand touch sound system . I would say Proton Saga is the nicest car available at this price.

User experience

  • I have already done 57000km.
  • My average fuel consumption is 7L/100km

I owned Proton Saga aeroback, Proton Iswara and Proton Wira before that. I would say the new Proton Saga at this price really offers refinement especially in terms of overall quality such as noise and vibrations. We can see better quality in the water-proof fabric seats , 7 inch monitor sound system ,remote boot release, power steering with audio control buttons. We used to complaint of the breakdown of parts in the old models of Proton but surprisingly after driving for two years plus, i do not experience any breakdown in any of the parts. Of course, I always service my Proton on time. Overall driving is confortable with the new auto transmission

Pros of my car:

  • The touch screen infotainment is surprisingly good.
  • The new 4 speed auto transmission has improved a lot and really transformed the car
  • Car handling is good and the ride is comfortable.
  • Reverse camera.

Cons of my car:

  • No keyless entry or engine push start button ( based on my model )
  • Unfortunately, the car remote control keeps giving problem even sending for services so many times.
  • Definitely not for those who are looking for a powerful car.

Ratings:

Total Score: 4

Performance: 4

Quality & Features: 4

Space: 4

Ride Comfort: 4

Fuel Economy: 3

Price & Cost: 5

Summary :

With this lowered price, this A segment car improved in every aspect in terms of quality and features. Trully a reliable and dependable car for myself , my family and my pets.

thank you

Yesterday’s tabling of Budget 2024 proposed for the current service tax rate of 6 percent to be increased to 8 percent.
