  • Bermaz Motor is previewing this kitted up 2022 Mazda 3 1.5

The 2022 Mazda 3 is definitely one of the most eye-catching and upmarket C-segment sedans on sale in Malaysia today.

Now, while most of the attention the Mazda 3 gets, it’s for the upper range 2.0-litre variants; there’s just not enough love for the entry-level 1.5-litre variant.

That notion could soon change as we recently spotted a kitted-up version of the 2022 Mazda 3 1.5 sitting at Bermaz Motor’s Glenmarie showroom.

Compared to the regular, plebian Mazda 3, this particular one is tastefully done up, sporting a front skirt, blacked-out front grille surround, rear spoiler, rear skirt, and enlarged mufflers.

Stepping inside, changes include new leather and suede combination seats, with the MS (MazdaSpeed) logo embossed on the front seats. There’s also subtle copper-colour stitching on the seats. Definitely a step-up over the regular Mazda 3 1.5’s fabric seats.

It’s business as usual in the powertrain department. This kitted-up Mazda 3 is powered by a naturally-aspirated 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine that does 120 PS and 153 Nm, mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The 2022 Mazda 3 is priced between RM 138,660 for the 1.5-litre models to RM 164,679 for the range-topping variant. It is imported (CBU) from Japan.
