The DNGA-based Toyota Yaris Cross made its global debut in Indonesia back in May 2023 and since then, it has been launched in Cambodia, the Philippines, Thailand, and very recently Taiwan. Since its global debut in Indonesia in May, the DNGA-based 2023 Toyota Yaris Cross has made its way to some of its neighbours in Southeast Asia including Cambodia and the Philippines. Thailand is its next destination as it was reported that the compact crossover would be launched on 5 October 2023. According to Autolife Thailand, the Yaris Cross would only be offered with a 1.5-litre hybrid engine. It seems the 1.5-litre petrol variants are not likely to make their way into the Kingdom for now.

To say it was a success for Toyota’s sales department during the recently held Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show or GIIAS 2023 event would be an understatement. PT Toyota Astra Motor (TAM), the holders of the brand across the Straits of Malacca, claims to have collected 5,796 bookings. However, the highlight would have to be that over 80 percent of Toyota Yaris Cross and Kijang Innova Zenix buyers opted for the hybrid variants. GIIAS 2023 was held from 10-20 August 2023 and many of Toyo
