Mercedes-Benz first introduced the EQ branding in 2016, marking the beginning of their commitment to battery electric vehicles (BEVs). What does EQ stand for? The company says it’s “Electric Intelligence”. The EQ lineup starts with the EQA, an SUV based on the GLA. Next is the EQB, a rare 7-seater EV SUV based on the GLB. The EQC, which is actually the first member of the EQ family, is modelled on the GLC SUV. At the higher end of the EQ spectrum are the EQE and EQS, both built on the dedicated

Alongside the 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQA facelift, the Mercedes-Benz EQB also received an update for 2024. Changes to the EQB largely mirrors the EQA, with revised exterior and interior. In just over 10 years, EVs have gone from fringe rich man’s plaything (think original 2012 Tesla Model S) to the ‘inevitable’ future of mobility. And it has taken half as long for the market to get saturated with every form and size of an inoffensive EV model that com

The next-generation electric vehicles (EV) by Mercedes-Benz, set to arrive at the end of 2024, will reportedly drop the EQ brand name, according to the German daily Handelsblatt. Mercedes-Benz currently markets its EVs under the EQ brand, with the EQC being the first model that was announced in 2016. It has since expanded to include EQA, EQB, EQE, EQS, and SUV models of the last two. Also read: Malaysia will CKD a Mercedes-Benz EQ model in 2023 - first EV from Pekan As Mercedes-Benz plans to bec

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia reckons that although Thailand appears to be ahead of the region in terms of policies to boost EV adoption and localization, Malaysia is still more or less on par. “If you are talking about localizing efforts or sales, I think both countries have an equal opportunity at the end of the day to showcase electric vehicles. I would say right now they are more or less on par, in terms of bringing more electric vehicle models, in terms of sales adoption, so let’s wait and see how
