Interior space of the Honda CR-V

The Honda CR-V is perhaps the most spacious in its segment, with more than 3 tennis balls of knee room for a 177 cm tall adult and for individuals with longer torsos, there should be still around 1 tennis ball of headroom.

The rear cabin floor is basically flat and with the relatively thin door panels, it has more shoulder room than any of its competitors. 3 adults can sit abreast in the back seat comfortably.

The rear seat back has a recline angle of 23 degrees which is similar to the Mazda CX-5, but the bench is rather flat with an angle of 10 degrees only. Which means there’s not much thigh support.

Practicality of the Honda CR-V

While the door bin can fit a 1.5L bottle, the compartment isn't particularly large as it doesn't extend across the door panel.

The CR-V more than makes up for it in the centre console box. It is big enough to store most handbags and maybe even together with a few boxes of masks.

Boot space is rated at 522 litres, which is quite a bit larger than the Mazda CX-5’s boot at 445 litres. The boot floor is also low and the opening aperture is wide with practically no load lip to lift items over, making it easy to load and unload.

When it comes to space and practicality, the Honda CR-V aces it and does live up to Honda’s reputation of being the masters of interior packaging.
