Too bad we can’t travel to Japan to see this cool Honda Civic exhibit

Though we can now travel across other states (with permission), we still can’t go overseas. This means that Malaysians are really missing out on this wonderful Honda Civic exhibit currently held in the Honda Collection Hall in Tochigi, within the grounds of Honda's Twin Ring Motegi Circuit

The Honda Civic will be turning 50 in 2022 and though that is a number worth celebrating, Honda Japan has been running the exhibition, called Civic World since 30-October 2020. Following overwhelming reception, Honda has decided to extend it until 31-May 2021.

Going by the speed of the vaccination process in this country, Malaysian fans would still miss out on seeing some unmolested Civics up close and personal.

There are 19 different variants of the Civic all throughout the years on display including all but the ninth-generation FB Civic. Okay, so the ninth-gen is actually represented by the FK2 Civic Type R but the Civic Type R should be in a league of its own.

Besides a representative of each generation of the Civic, there are also a few Civic race cars on display including the Idemitsu-liveried All-Japan Touring Car Championship (JTCC) Civic Si-R from 1990 and a Motul-liveried JTCC Civic Si from 1987.

Elsewhere in the exhibit is the original Civic RS from 1974, a Civic Country station wagon from 1980, a 1983 Civic Shuttle wagon, and the very first Civic Type R, the EK9.

It’s just too bad we can only see glimpses of them through video. However, if you’re looking at checking out a car museum closer to home, perhaps you could check out the National Automotive Museum in Sepang.
