jaguar power honey Q&A Review

If you could be any animal for a day, which would you be and why?

Honey badger huh? One of my favourite tenacious, cheeky, pretty brave, has a few set to's with lions and tigers…animals. Hehehe…😁 But not for me. I'd wanna be Panthera onca, or jaguar and in particular the black jaguar or ‘Melanistic' meaning they appear almost black. Melanistic jaguars and leopards are also known as ‘Black Panthers'. The name ‘Jaguar' comes from the indigenous word ‘Yaguar' which means ‘He who kills with one leap'. He’s the third biggest cat after lions and tigers. They are supreme ambush predators, and hunt day and night, sometimes they'll watch and wait from a high vantage point and when prey is unaware they leap. Big males can weigh up to 19 stone, so imagine that big cat leaping from the trees at you. Most think the Tiger or the Lion has the most powerful bite. The Jaguars bite is powerful enough to bite through crocodilian hide, and turtle shells with ease and can take down prey 3 to 4 times their own weight. I know right?!😁 Here's the kicker; unlike other big cats that attack the neck or throat Jaguars bite the back of the skull. They are so strong they can carry large prey while swimming, and climb trees while carrying animals as large as a small cow! They have little trouble taking on big predators like the Caiman. See!. 😁 They dont avoid water. They're often found living near lakes, rivers and wetlands. They are so confident they are known to cross large rivers, and will dive for food. Gotchya! Well, what cat doesn't like a bit of fish? When breeding, a pair of jaguar may mate up to 100 times a day! Phew! Pregnancy lasts just 14 weeks and the female gives birth to 2 cubs, sometimes 4. Cute Jaguar cub alert! Also available in black! 😁 Why a jaguar? Well look at them, they're magnificent, brutal poetry in motion. But also to make up their numbers, they are now ‘near threatened' and to lose these beautiful animals would be a travesty, see in some minds they are worth more dead than alive. 😁 Images courtesy of my Pinterest. Which are the top 10 most powerful predators on land?

1:Bengal Tiger(extreme strength, camouflaging ability ,stealthiness) 2:Polar bear(extreme strength ,camouflaging ability) 3:African Lion (extreme strength, unity) 4:Jaguar(Hunting tactics, extremely powerful weapons) 5:Gray Wolf(Unity) 6:Grizzly bear(Extreme strength) 7:African wild dogs(unity) 8:Komodo dragon(Deadly venom) 9:Leopard (Great adaptability, hunting tactics) 10:Honey badger(Courage)

Guy I know claims he could beat up any sub-250 pound mammal on the planet (including humans). He lifts a lot and is on the football team, playing defensive end. Toughest kid in high school. Is he right?

That's cute,. Your friend is probably thinking waaaay too much of himself, he's only the thoughest kid in school until these bois decide to join the class. Wolf Wolves have bone crushing jaws and are able to confront and take down large animals such as moose or bison. No human can simply take down those animals using strength alone, and I've seen videos of K9 taking down fully grown men before, so imagine what a wolf would be capable of doing to your friend. It wouldn't really end well for him. Cougar These guys have been known to kill lone wolves before and they're pretty ferocious predators also. It's paws have claws that are pretty scary if I do say so myself. I highly doubt your friend would stand a chance. Jaguar One of the largest big cats in the world, the jaguar is certainly no push over. It's been documented to have preyed and killed caimans before in the water, breaking their spine while at it. Oh, and it also has a very powerful bite, more powerful than that of a lion or a tiger. Your friend's skull would get crushed. Hell, I'm pretty sure even a honey badger or a wolverine would give your friend a ,very, hard time. And this is not even taking account the larger predators out there like grizzlies, lions, tigers, etc, because at that point, your friend would get ahnilated before he even realized how fucked he is. Don't underestimate the animal kingdom.

Which animal can kill the Sumatran tiger?

Sumatran tigers are only jaguar-sized creatures so many animals can kill the Sumatran tiger if they were forced to fight. But I will be specific in what animals ,live ,with the tigers and can kill them. Many animals can and also live with them even with the tiger’s powerful teeth, jaws and claws. What are they? Sun bears, the smallest bears in the world. While the tiger is much larger, the sun bears often win. Why is this? They have the largest teeth of all bears, at 4 inches and the sharpest claws of all bears, perfect for ripping honey. Add the thick fur of the sun bear used mainly to withstand bee stings and you got one that can kill a Sumatran Tiger. Mayalan tigers also fall into sun bear victims. (To be fair, they are also about the size of a jaguar too.) But the 4 species of tiger that live with the bears-Bengal, Sumatran, Malayan, and Indochinese-have killed the bears as well. Sumatran tigers might be killed by the world’s largest croc of them all, the notorious saltie. Saltwater crocodiles are present in about all Indonesian islands so Sumatra? No different. Salties have killed bengal tigers, after all, so a sumatran tiger could also be killed. However, both the Royal Bengal tiger and the sumatran tiger have been known to kill the salties on land according to ,WildCiencias,. The largest terrestrial animal in the island can easily kill a tiger. Though the smallest elephant, the sumatran elephant dwarfs the tiger 4400–8800 to 290 pounds. They have sharp tusks and the trunk can flip over a tiger. But sumatran tigers prey on elephants. However the elephants on the menu are either calves or weak adults. So another one. The sumatran rhinoceros can too. Running at 33 mph and with incredible stamina, just a stab of the horn can kill. Like the elephant, the sumatran rhino is sometimes prey but it is just the young and weak. So the Sumatran rhino could too. Dholes, or Asiatic wild dogs(<plural) could kill a tiger. But only the jaguar-sized tigers they live with. A pack of dholes can kill a sumatran tiger as the tigers themselves are jaguar sized- only about less than half the size of a siberian tiger! But a Siberian or bengal could easily kill a pack, however the sumatran is small enough. King cobras are very toxic. Even though they are 5 times less in toxicity than the inland taipan, the king cobra can kill an elephant with a single bite. But even though their ranges overlap, the tigers and the cobras* live in complete harmony with each other and they have never attacked or fought each other. *Actually, king cobras are not true cobras.,Serge Elia's answer to Do King Cobras belong to the same genus as other cobras? Reticulated pythons are the longest, but not heaviest, snakes in the world. At 320 pounds, it is a very similar-sized predator. Due to this, the reticulated python rarely kills the tigers as with no claws and similar-sized teeth compared to the tiger, as the jaguars in the amazon kill green anacondas, which are heavier than a reticulated python. However the retic sometimes wins by surprising it and only attacking it if the claws are retracted into the sheaths, the only situation in which the python can constrict.

What are some of the most unexpected badasses of the animal kingdom?

Well, there are many brave animals throughout the world who take on larger enemies and have no fear. Everyone knows about the badass honey badger and the even bigger wolverine. But may I introduce you to quite an underappreciated mustelid few people know of: Amazon Giant Otter Beautiful animal, right? If you thought piranhas and other amazon fish are scary, think again. Giant otters eat 2-4 pounds of these fish a day! They swim as agile and fast as wolves run on land, and live in family groups of 2–20 usually. They grow up to 5.6 feet long and can weigh 50 pounds. Of course, a diet of dangerous, toothy fish alone doesn’t make an animal a badass. Giant otters are surrounded by a jungle of danger. Snapping caimans, snarling jaguars, mega-constrictors, bull sharks, stingrays and more, not to mention the mind- boggling number of venomous arthropods and snakes. One might think giant otters are regular prey to Amazonian apex predators, but they’d be wrong. Giant otters use teamwork, agility, strength, and numbers but most of all fearlessness to push themselves to the top of the food chain. They take on beasts like adult caiman, jaguar, anaconda and more as packs, oftentimes prevailing to either scare the animal away or snack on it. “Not such a predator now, are you?” It really hurts to hear these otters are endangered due to the fur trade and habitat loss. Especially hence their infamous nickname, “river wolves”. They are such little badasses: fearless, respectable, majestic, and powerful. I hope everyone will eventually know and respect these animals and fight to protect them before it’s too late. I couldn’t bear the thought of losing such an animal. Anyway, want some more evidence of their fearlessness? Check these clips out! Moral of the story: don’t screw with river wolves! -Bennett (All photos from google) (Videos from Nat Geo Wild and BBC)

If all animals could be pets, what would your top choice be?

“Could be pets [without murdering you]” is how I am choosing to read this question… Well in terms of awesomeness when removing the ‘murder’ factor, I think leopards are pretty cool. IMO they are kinda like the ‘ideal’ cat. Powerful, predatory, but still very lightweight and able to move around with that cat-like ability to walk on air. Lions and tigers and jaguars are powerful and awesome, but they are not that lightweight murder bundle you can carry around in your arms. Of course riding on the back of your pet giraffe to school or work everyday would be pretty cool as well. Or if you are a bit more inclined to the water? A pet walrus or elephant seal would be awesome to ride around on. And finally… A Wolverine or Honey Badger. Don’t have to worry about someone else’s dog picking a fight with your pet because your pet will rip them a new one… Awwww murder fluff I wanna cuddle you so badly and use you as a pillow…

Which is the most feared predator in the animal kingdom?

There are more than one. I’ll list the animals that in my opinion fit the definition. African lion Known to be one of the most iconic animals in different cultures in the world, the African lion roams in the savannas of Southern Africa. With 5 cm long claws on its front paws and a bite force of 700 PSI, the lion is one of the most effective predators all over Africa, but what it makes the lion even more effective is the habit to gather into groups called prides, led by an alpha male, with most of the members being lionesses, especially when it comes to hunting. Thanks to their teamwork, lions can take down animals weighing several times their own size, including Cape buffaloes and on occasion even hippos, making them one of the most effective predators in the world. Bengal tiger A large feline which lives in the forests of India, with 5 cm claws on its front paws and a bite force of about 1000 PSI. This beast is known for hunting animals of different sizes ranging from Sambar deers to gaurs (wild cattle weighing about 1500 kg). What makes the tiger an effective predator is its intelligence, thanks to whose it can be sneaky, blend in the grass, and wait for the perfect moment to ambush its target. Some sources describe tigers as the most intelligent members of the ,Felidae ,family. Grizzly bear This subspecies of brown bears lives in the forests of North America, and is known for hunting animals from little rodents to large deers, and sometimes even moose and bisons, being a challenging opponent even for wolves and cougars. Even though it’s omnivorous, feeding on honey and berries as well. With 10 cm long claws and a bite force of 1200 PSI, some wildlife experts describe these bears as the “bulldozers of nature”. Saltwater crocodile This massive dinosaur lives across the Indian Ocean and is known for killing and eating anything getting in its way, with a bite force of about 5000 PSI. These reptiles also have a tremendous reputation of having killed lots of people (see for example: Battle of Ramree Island). Great white shark An apex predator of the oceans. It’s known for killing animals of different species in its territory, from fishes to seals. What makes this type of shark even more dangerous is its bite force of 4000 PSI, having one of the most powerful bites in the world. In the past it was thought great white sharks actively hunt human, but this has been proven false since on many occasions it was proven that they dislike human flesh, and most of the attacks on humans were because the latter were thought to be marine prey animals at first glance. Orca This giant cetacean lives in almost every corner of all the seas and oceans worldwide, and it’s known to be one of the most feared predators among all the marine animals, with a bite force of about 21,000 PSI, having probably the most devastating bite in the animal world. ADDED: Jaguar Known to be the largest feline in the Americas, it’s the third largest member of the ,panthera, genus, after the lion and the tiger. Roaming in a large areal from Mexico down to the South of Brazil, this large carnivore is known to have the most powerful bite in its family, being about 1400 PSI, enough to crush the skull of a caiman of the shell of a turtle. That’s the reason why this apex predator can prey on animals such as caimans and pythons, including the anaconda (largest python species of all), so this animal is one of those extraordinary cases in which the hunters became hunted. Requested by ,Simon Janevic,. Polar bear Known to be the largest carnivore on earth, the polar bear roams in the Arctic Circle, including Northern Canada, Russia, Greenland and many other areas in the North Pole. With 10 cm long claws and a bite force of 1200 PSI, this species of bear feeds mainly on bearded seals and ringed seals, although on occasions even carcasses belonging to belugas and narwhals are included in the menu. Contrary to popular belief, polar bears aren’t omnivorous, because they’ve been recorded feeding also on berries and other plants, aside from animal flesh. But this doesn’t mean that the polar bear isn’t a threat to us humans, especially because their prey base is becoming scarcer and scarcer due to global warming, so this means they are prone to kill and eat any other animal they catch, including us. Requested by Chris Stevens. If you have idea of yours about any other animal that can fit the definition of “most feared predator” don’t hesitate to tell in the comment section. Hope you liked the answer.

What predator can take down a Kodiak bear?

Very few predators are capable of successfully defeating a Kodiak bear, who is the largest bear in the world after the polar bear. They weigh on average 660–1,320 pounds, although some have exceeded 1,500 pounds. In addition that, they are capable of being up to 9.8 feet tall when standing upright on their hind legs. ,There isn’t a single wild terrestrial predator capable of taking down a Kodiak bear in a one-on-one fight, at least without any sort of venom. ,Wolves, hyenas, lions, tigers, and other bears will be eventually defeated by this bear. The greatest match against a Kodiak bear would be man himself. It highly depends on the weapon they are planning to use though. Fighting barehanded against this beast is impractical. The spear is truly one of the greatest weapons ever created. Native Americans used these and in groups were capable of hunting down bison and mammoths, the largest animals in their region. Having a spear with you can make a huge difference and increase your survival with an animal such as a bear drastically. The Maasai tribe is an excellent representative of the spear’s power. Up until recently, the only way for a young Maasai warrior to achieve warrior status was to single-handedly kill a lion with his spear. It was a difficult task indeed, but most young warriors were capable of doing it. Native Americans are an example of humans who hunted bears, mostly in groups. Individual men however have done it as well. Modern hunters with firearms often hunt bears of course, although these hunters are trained. An average man with a spear or a firearm who has no training or experience with either weapon will likely be killed. (Thank you ,Nathan Curry,, ,Mark Hensley,, ,Emma Martin,, ,Marco Tedesco, and ,Nathan Curry, for pointing this out in the comments!) Now let’s move on to wild animals, most of which will only fight a Kodiak bear in a hypothetical or staged fight: A polar bear may be capable of taking down a Kodiak bear. However, they are considered ,aquatic mammals, due to them spending many months of the year at sea. (Thank you ,Mike Howard, for pointing this out in the comments!) The ,polar bear, is the largest bear of all, weighing 770–1,540 pounds on average. Despite being stereotyped as being voraciously aggressive though, they are normally cautious in confrontations, and often choose to escape rather than fight, especially when there are risks of overheating. Even grizzly bears, who are smaller than Kodiak bears, have successfully driven off polar bears in Northern Alaska. While a confrontation between the two wouldn’t occur in the wild due to Kodiak bears living only in the Kodiak archipelago, the polar bear may have a chance of winning if it was willing to fight. (Thank you ,Joshua Walters,, ,L Cannavo,, and ,Benjamin Keno, for pointing this out in the comments!) The ,saltwater crocodile ,is the largest crocodilian in the world, growing up to 20 feet long and weighing 2,000–3,000 pounds. They are certainly larger than a Kodiak bear and also have a stronger bite force, reaching up to 3,700 psi. While they are considered slow in land, they are surprisingly more nimble than one might expect. A Kodiak bear could lose a limb in a death roll and bleed out. Kodiak bears have greater stamina than crocodiles though. While a Kodiak bear would likely emerge victorious, it wouldn’t be an easy battle. (Thank you ,Esosa Ighodaro, and ,David Litwin, for pointing this out in the comments!) The ,Komodo dragon, is another powerful reptile, although is it nearly 10 times smaller than the Kodiak bear. They weigh on average 174–201 pounds and grow up to 8.5 feet long. Their famous venom is capable of lowering blood pressure and creating muscle paralysis on the victim. This can lead to shock and loss of consciousness in envenomated prey. If a Komodo Dragon manages to land a bite on a Kodiak bear’s leg, it might not be effective though due to the latter having thick fur. Other disadvantages the Komodo Dragon has include smaller size and less overall strength. (Thank you ,Rahul Tiwari,, ,Isaiah DeAngelis,, ,Ed Hunter,, and ,Will Hannah, for mentioning the Komodo dragon in the comments!) The ,Siberian tiger ,is the largest wild feline in the world, weighing on average 397–675 pounds and growing up to 6.4 feet in length. They are powerful predators that have even been known to ambush and kill adult rhinos and elephants in their habitat, although it is a very rare event. In addition to that, most of the adult rhino and elephant specimens killed were infirm or old/sick. Siberian tigers have also been known for killing Ussuri Brown Bears using ambush. Most of those specimens do not consist of adult males though. While a Siberian tiger could ambush a Kodiak bear and defeat it, it may defeat a Kodiak bear in a confrontation as well, only if the fight is short though. (Thank you ,Nathan Curry,, ,Mark Hensley,, ,Emma Martin,, ,Marco Tedesco, and ,Nathan Curry, for pointing this out in the comments!) The ,inland taipan, from Australia is considered to be the world’s most venomous snake. Its venom contains enough lethality to kill at least 100 adult humans in a single bite. This is highly due to it being a specialist hunter of mammals, resulting in its venom being specially adapted to kill warm-blooded species such as humans. It is an extremely fast and agile snake that is capable of striking instantly with extreme accuracy, often striking multiple times in the same attack, and it envenomates in almost every case. If this snake manages to land a successful bite on the Kodiak bear, the bear has chances of dying. The bear, however, may obliterate the snake well before the venom had a chance to take effect. While other venomous snakes are capable of such a feat as well, the inland taipan has the highest chances and is your best choice. (Thank you ,Stephen Bishop, for pointing this out in the comments!) The ,anaconda ,and the ,python ,are the longest and the largest snakes of all. They are famous for their predatory method of killing, which is constriction. The pressure is so tight that the victim’s blood supply cut off drastically, resulting in the victim’s collapse. They are apex predators in their habitat, although the big cats may be their main enemies. Jaguars are known for competing against against anacondas and occasionally preying on them, although cougars may be capable of doing the same. Leopards. lions, and tigers live alongside pythons, who may also be preyed on in some occasions. Crocodilians live alongside these snakes and occasionally prey on them as well, although both snakes sometimes prey on most of these crocodilians as well. A fight between an anaconda or python and a Kodiak bear would be quite interesting. While the Kodiak bear isn’t as agile as the big cats who are known for preying on these snakes occasionally, they are larger and stronger. They have larger claws as well, which will serve well in this fight. (Thank you ,Brian Lenfant, for pointing this out in the comments!) The ,grizzly bear,, the Kodiak bear’s smaller but more aggressive cousin, would put up a good fight. Weighing 800 pounds on average and having more natural enemies such as wolves and cougars, grizzly bears have also been known for killing Spanish fighting bulls in California goldrush pit fights. As I mentioned earlier in my answer, they have successfully driven off polar bears in Northern Alaska. I’m not sure if a grizzly bear could actually kill a Kodiak bear in a fight though. Wolverines ,and ,honey badgers, has been known for their fearsome reputations. Wolverines have killed animals as large as elk and moose, while honey badgers have fended off lion prides! Wolverines weigh up to 70 pounds, while honey badgers weigh 20–35 pounds. I’ve heard a lot about a case about a wolverine killing an adult polar bear in a zoo by latching on its throat, which lead up to the polar bear’s collapse due to suffocation. I personally don’t believe this though. While I doubt these animals could kill a Kodiak bear in a fight, they are brave enough to stand their ground and could possibly injure the Kodiak bear as well. (Thank you ,Devin Woods, and ,Richard Snow, for pointing this out in the comments!) Aquatic predators, such as, sharks, and ,killer whales/orcas, are capable of killing a Kodiak bear if the latter is in any of these animal’s vicinities. Other ,dolphins, and even ,porpoises, are capable as well. A Kodiak bear wouldn’t be able to do anything once any of these animals decimate it. (Thank you ,Christopher Rees,, ,Michael Beede,, ,Vernon Jackson,, and ,Federico Bollo, for pointing this out in the comments!) Last but not least, ,another Kodiak bear, could kill a Kodiak bear! The most likely time where male Kodiak bears would fight each other would be during mating season for obvious reasons. After all, no Kodiak bear is invincible. Young male Kodiak bears are likely to run away for adult males, while other adults will stand their ground. (Thank you ,Pepsi Gibbs, for pointing this out in the comments!) With that in mind, here’s our final answer: There isn’t a single wild terrestrial predator capable of taking down a Kodiak bear in a fair one-on-one fight with brute strength. They’re apex predators who have no natural enemies. I hope this helps! Also, I want to thank the 0.1% of you seeing this post who have upvoted this, along with those of you who shared something in the comments. I highly appreciate it! :)

What animal is the apex predator right now?

In Asian Land Tiger The largest species among cats, male tigers can weigh up to 660 pounds (300 kilograms). Found in South Asia, parts of South-east Asia and Siberia, their dark vertical stripes provide excellent ambush cover. In the wild, they usually prefer medium to large-sized animals. Tigers living close to human habitations are known to prey on domestic livestock. In Asian and Australian water Saltwater crocodile They are the largest of all living reptile species, and usually live in mangrove swamps, estuaries, lagoons and lower stretches of rivers. Their habitat ranges from eastern India to throughout South-east Asia. The "salties" are ambush predators and use their immense jaws to bring down even humans, apart from other predators. In African land Lion The second largest cat species is endemic to sub-Saharan Africa and India. They are unusually social animals in comparison to other cat species. It's the female lions who hunt together and feed the pride, while the male lions usually watch over the cubs. In African Water Nile Crocodile Nile crocodiles are generally considered to be much more aggressive than American alligators or American crocodiles.Along with hippos and lions, crocodiles account for perhaps a few hundred deaths and disappearances each year, although exact figures are very hard to verify. Nile crocodiles will also often scavenge from carcasses, together with a number of other animals, all of which seem to tolerate each others' presence. In European land Brown bear Found across North America, Europe and Asia, they are one of the largest land predators in the world. These animals are mostly omnivorous in nature – consuming the greatest varieties of foods of any bear. Their diet consists of fruits, honey, insects, crabs, salmon, birds and their eggs, rodents, squirrels, elk, deer and wild boar. They also scavenge on carcasses at times. In North American land Grizzly Bear This is an animal that most outdoors men in North America have extreme respect for. Attacks by the biggest member of the brown bear family are quite common in certain areas of the country and extreme caution must be taken while in grizzly country.Grizzly bears can be quite aggressive, especially when protecting their young, or when surprised or threatened, and can deliver powerful swipes and bites. It is estimated that the bite of a grizzly bear is strong enough to shatter a bowling ball. In South American land Jaguar Jaguars, the largest breed of cat in America and the third largest in the world after tigers and lions, hunt large animals in dense jungles. They prefer to hunt in darkness as it conceals them from the prey. If need be, they do not hesitate to enter the water bodies for fish and caiman. They are also excellent climbers. In Australian Land Dingo The dingo (Canis lupus dingo) is a free-roaming dog found mainly in ,Australia,, as well as southeast Asia, where it is said to have its origins. It is currently classified as a subspecies of the gray wolf, Canis lupus. Dingoes are regarded as ,apex predators, and possibly perform an ecological key function. In Antarctic land Elephant seal Elephant seals when in the water are solitary in nature, but they come together on the shore during mating season. There is a social hierarchy during the mating season, but males are less aggressive with each other when they come to land for molting. The nose of a male acts as a kind of re-breather, and is full of cavities designed to reabsorb the moisture from the seal's exhalations. Elephant seals eat fish and squid. In Antarctic water Leopard seal The animal attains a length of as much as 11.5 ft (3.5 m) and weighs up to 1,320 lb (600 kg).The front teeth of this powerful carnivore are razor sharp – so, consider them cute from a distance. An interesting (unless you are its prey) adaptation locks the molars together in a way that allows the animal to filter krill from the water when larger prey is unavailable. The Leopard Seal is also an opportunistic predator. The prey most commonly includes penguins, squid, fish, and even other species of seals. In Arctic Region Polar bear Native to the Arctic region, polar bears have evolved to occupy a narrow ecological niche, both in body characteristics and hunting methods. Their most favorite method is still-hunting, where they use their sense of smell to locate a seal-breathing hole and lay in wait for hours for the seals to surface. Once the seals surface, they drag them onto the ice and kill it. In all oceans Killer whale These giant creatures are the ultimate predators on Earth, given that they have no natural predators and they are omnipresent in all the oceans, which cover nearly 71 percent of the planet. Highly social animals, they hunt in packs and feed on a wide range of food, from fish to marine mammals such as seals and other large whales. Even the deadly sharks are afraid of the mighty killer whales and usually avoid confrontation. In sky Harpy eagle World’s most powerful raptor feasts on sloths and monkeys. They have also been known to hunt livestock, including goats, chicken, lambs and small pigs. Harpy eagles use perch-hunting technique: they scan the target from the top of the trees and once it is sighted, they attack the prey with their strong talons.
