nissan thailand navara Q&A Review

Japanese cars assembled in Japan and same models assembled in third countries like Thailand and Indonesia, which is better in terms of quality and reliability?

I’ve owned/driven many Japanese cars over the years. Our current family car is a Honda CR-V 4WD (4th Gen) made in Thailand. We often take it out on weekend drive and off-road driving. It’s a well built car and I wouldn’t trade it for anything else. My other car is a Mazda 3, made in Japan. The only issue I had with this car was the engine mount which rattled constantly. I replaced the engine mount cover (costs A$160) and had no problem with it since. I bought the car second hand a few years ago. The car has done nearly 200K but still drive solid.. that’s Japanese build quality for you. Another car I used to owned was a Honda Accord Euro (sedan), also made in Japan. It had a few issues with the starter motor but that‘s quite common with Honda cars which use direct fuel injectors. The injector require constant cleaning due to the carbon build up. I was otherwise pleased with the build quality, especially the spacious leather interiors. I’ve also driven Toyota HiLux dual cab which is still the top selling car in Thailand and Australia. Anyone who ever own a HiLux will tell you it’s built solid as a tank. Australia now imports a lot of cars from Thailand, mostly large utility vehicles like the HiLux, Nissan Navara, Ford Ranger, Mitsubishi Triton. This video provides a glimpse in the factories where these cars are made. The only difference whether a car is made in Japan or a third country is the level automation used in the assembly process. The assembly line in Japan is much more automated. For example about 90% welding operations at assembly shops are done by robots. IMO it makes no real difference in terms of the build quality as the cars would have to be inspected for quality assurance. Ultimately you buy a product for its brand not where it is made.

Ferdinand Marcos' last words to Cory Aquino was hoping she would open the Bataan Power Plant (she wouldn't out of spite) and prophetically claimed it would doom the Philippines twenty years later for ignoring this request. Was this in hindsight the move that would have been beneficial for the country in the long run?

Unfortunately, the answer is ,YES,. During Marcos’ reign, he built the Bataan Nuclear Power Plant to decrease the Philippines’ electricity costs and decrease the dependence on imported coal and crude oil. The 1973 oil crisis was a wake up call to Pres. Ferdinand Marcos. It is the first nuclear power plant in Southeast Asia. This should have helped the Philippine economy (especially the manufacturing industry) today. The power plant was built between 1976 and 1984 but stopped temporarily in 1979 due to the Three Mile Island Nuclear Accident in Pennsylvania, USA. The plant was completed in 1984 and officially passed the safety standards of the International Atomic Energy Agency from Vienna, Austria in 1985. While the plant is ongoing inspection and a few touchups and installations of some components, Pres. Marcos and his family were ousted and kicked out by the useless 1986 People Power Revolution which was started by the housewife named Corazon C. Aquino, the wife of the assassinated-Sen. Ninoy Aquino and her oligarchs. After that, she abandoned and mothballed the BNPP project, which was about to commence its operations. That useless event was two months before the 1986 Chernobyl Nuclear Disaster in Ukraine (which was part of the Soviet Union during that time). A year later, Marcos told Aquino about refusing to open BNPP: F. E. Marcos, (1987): “Ang kabilin-bilinan ko kay Mrs. Corazon Aquino na ipagtuloy ang Bataan Nuclear Power Plant kung maaari. Sapagkat, I told her that this is the solution in meeting energy demands and decreasing dependence on imported oil. Ngunit…ayaw niyang tanggapin ang aking mungkahi at maaalala daw ng taong bayan si Marcos habang nandyan ang Bataan Nuclear Power Plant. Anong klaseng pag-iisip yan? Iyan ang paghihigante. Wag mo idamay ang sambayanang Filipino. E di balang araw, makikita ninyo. Twenty years from now, bagsak na ang Pilipinas.” (“My order to Mrs. Corazon Aquino is to continue the Bataan Nuclear Power Plant, if needed. It’s because this is the solution in meeting energy demands and decreasing demands on imported oil. However…she refused to accept my suggestion and remember the native people about Marcos while the Bataan Nuclear Power Plant is there. What kind of thinking is that? That’s just revenge. Don’t incriminate the native Filipinos. One day, you will see. Twenty years from now, the Philippines fell.”) See what happened? This is the epitome of crab mentality. It’s the most insulting sin in Filipino culture. An insult to patriotism and nationalism. The Aquinos and their hidden agenda even sold away the BNPP’s reactors and other major components. Manila Electric Company (Meralco) was government-owned, but Cory sold it to the oligarchic Lopezes (also the owners of ABS-CBN). Since the Lopezes have no experience in nuclear power, they just let the ordinary Filipinos suffer the black-outs and higher costs scot free. The Lopez-run Meralco don’t give a fuck about the situation. They are hellishly greedy and capitalistic. Same goes with the water and internet services. These resulted to poor infrastructure. Philippine electricity is the most expensive in Southeast Asia because it still relies heavily on imported fossil fuels, mostly coal and crude oil. Even Marcos died in 1989, his children, senadors Imee and Bongbong followed his legacy. Imee’s plan for solar energy came true. Bongbong’s wind farm was established in 2005. The Philippines was the first in Southeast Asia to have solar and wind energy. (wikipedia, 2021) After the assassination of Sen. Ninoy Aquino in the Manila International Airport in 1983, the Philippine economy dropped. Some anti-Marcos critics blamed Marcos for his corruption through paying the BNPP. Marcos wants the project to complete on time. The plant is completed in 1984 and it passed inspection in 1985. Twenty years from what Marcos said (which is 2007); the Philippine manufacturing industry almost collapsed, even under the Pres. Gloria Arroyo reign. Marcos was right. The Philippines’ progress began to decline. Here are a few multinational companies that closed their Philippine factories due to expensive electricity and water since they are controlled by greedy, capitalistic oligarchs: Toto ,(factory closed in 2007): (Archived news about Toto’s closure is not available but it is based on Toto’s integrated reports of 2006 and 2007) Toto Philippines is a joint venture of Toto and Mariwasa (PH tile manufacturer). Their plant opened in 1995 in Sto. Tomas, Batangas but later closed in 2007. They make sanitary wares like lavatories and toilets. Colgate-Palmolive Philippines, (factory closed in 2008): The closure of the Colgate-Palmolive Makati plant is caused by expensive electricity and water. As a result, most Colgate toothpastes and mouthwash are imported from Thailand. Colgate toothbrushes are imported from Vietnam and mostly China. Palmolive and Tender Care products are also imported from Thailand. Axion and Ajax products are imported from Malaysia. Intel Philippines ,(factory closed in 2009): Intel closed their Cavite plant due to cost-cutting due to 2007–08 Global Financial Crisis and expensive electricity. They also closed one plant in Malaysia and two in the United States. The only Intel manufacturers in Asia are China and Vietnam. Good-Year ,(factory closed in 2009): Goodyear was the nearest tire factory to cater the 4 car factories in Sta. Rosa, Laguna and one in Cainta, Rizal. Due to its closure, the only local tire factory is the Yokohama plant in Clark, Pampanga. And now,, Nissan Philippines ,(factory closed in 2021): Expensive electricity is also the cause of Nissan’s factory closure. It would have been better if they manufacture the newer Nissan Almera, as well as the Navara, Terra and Urvan (just like the old days). Some of the MNC factories in the Philippines like P&G Cabuyao plant and Isuzu Binan plant had to take out one product out of their local plant due to expensive electricity, which affects their production costs and efficiency. P&G no longer manufacture Downy fabric conditioners packed in bottles. Instead, they are imported from VIetnam, leaving only the sachet and pouch Pinoy-made. And Isuzu no longer manufactures the D-Max due to the same reason. Instead, Isuzu will import the D-max trucks from Thailand. Only Thailand and Malaysia manufactures Isuzu D-Max in ASEAN. Most foreign investors like Daikin and AkzoNobel (maker of Dulux Paints) can’t even build a factory here in the Philippines. Yan tuloy. Most of our exports are raw materials like semiconductors and car wiring harnesses. While Luzon mostly export raw, intermediate goods like car wiring harnesses transmissions and semiconductors; MIndanao is lucky because their usual finished goods they export is seafoods and fruits (mostly pineapples and bananas), as well as its fruit by-products. Some people, especially the anti-Marcos critics and Bataan residents, refuse to revive the BNPP mainly because of (1) the Chernobyl disaster and (2) the fault line below BNPP. Mr. Carlo Arcilla concluded that there’s no fault line under BNPP. Here’s the video (watch carefully): So in conclusion, the Bataan Nuclear Power Plant needs to reopen. The Philippines is suffering from economic losses, especially the shutdown of PH factories of multinational brands (i.e. Honda Cars Sta. Rosa plant). Ordinary Filipinos are suffering from black-outs and high-costs as we are already suffocated by massive, capitalistic oligarchs. Cory, Lopezes; I’m looking at you.

Which one is a better truck Nissan Titan or Toyota Tundra?

I am not an American, Canadian, Mexican, or even Indian here: But for sure, the ,Titan,, as it could get endangered sooner or later, thanks to monsieur ,Ghosn, himself. Unless if ,Nissan, could wish itself, alongside ,Mitsubishi Motors,, to make their mechanical parts, particulary its ,automatic transmissions,, ,on a par, with ‘Toyota’. Therefore, Nissan and Mitsubishi too could rather distance themselves from ‘le car’ ,Renault, in favour of merging with ,Hyundai Motor Group, just to ditch their Renault-based architecture, mainly to mechanical parts, in favour of a ,Hyundai,/,Kia, based design format. Which means, since neither Hyundai/Kia builds small and large ,pickups,/,utes,/,bakkies, of its own, then Nissan could rather develop their next-generation Titan large pickup as a completely remodelled ,Ram pickup, by ,Fiat Chrysler,, now via ,Stellantis,. Also, to non-American and Canadian viewers, mainly from Europe, plus the Nordics, UK, and Ireland, India, Australia/New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, and also South Africa: In addition, Nissan and Mitsubishi, while they are under Hyundai’s control, could also take over ,Isuzu, just to rebuild their next-generation ,Navara, and ,L200/Triton, small pickup as a completely remodelled ,Isuzu D-Max,. - ,Genda Nicolai Yturzaeta Iwakawa,, sorry for the wordings, the ideas, and even the rest as well…

Is Mitsubishi Motors going out of business?

Maybe not, as with COVID-19 harmng Japan (where ,Mitsubishi Motors, and the ,Mitsubishi, conglomerate is home to) and the rest of the globe, therefore I may think that before the French-owned Nissan car company purchased and owned Mitsubishi (Motors) in 2016, then it would have been proven in the past for one [Japanese] car company (that is a part of a deeply big conglomerate) to be part of a fellow compatriot (like Toyota). Well, speaking as an alternate history; if Mitsubishi (Motors) should have not jump into the deeply ailing Franco-Japanese Renault-Nissan camp, therefore a Toyota takeover of Mitsubishi would have happen somewhere circa 1970s, 1980s, or 1990s. Because it was proved to be a mistake for MMC (which is the acronym for ‘Mitsubishi Motors Corporation’) to jump into the also ailing Chrysler car company’s turf, which also made ,Chrysler, to be the owner of the Mitsubishi car company (not conglomerate like ‘Hyundai’) in 1971, but especially, this could be a long, long, long discussion here as to explain why Mitsubishi Motors should have not just refuse a Nissan tie-up (as an alternate history), but also to explain why Mitsubishi Motors had pass the wrong way as well (plus its involvement with Hyundai since the Mitsubishi was its supplier of parts). The Chrysler takeover of Mitsubishi Motors was a ‘part of Mr. Kubo's expansion strategy was to increase exports by forging alliances with well-established foreign companies. Therefore, in 1971 MHI sold U.S. automotive giant Chrysler a 15 percent share in the new company. Thanks to this deal, Chrysler began selling the Galant in the United States as the Dodge Colt (which was the first rebadged Mitsubishi product sold by Chrysler), pushing MMC's annual production beyond 250,000 vehicles. In 1977, the Galant was sold as the Chrysler Sigma in Australia.’ (source: ,Mitsubishi Motors (1970s) - Wikipedia,). ‘By 1977, a network of "Colt"-branded distribution and sales dealerships had been established across Europe, as Mitsubishi sought to begin selling vehicles directly. Annual production had by now grown from 500,000 vehicles in 1973 to 965,000 in 1978, when Chrysler began selling the Galant as the Dodge Challenger and the Plymouth Sapporo. However, this expansion was beginning to cause friction; Chrysler saw their overseas markets for subcompacts as being directly encroached by their Japanese partners, while MMC felt the Americans were demanding too much say in their corporate decisions.’ (source: ,Mitsubishi Motors (1970s) - Wikipedia,). So far, in the 1980s, ‘Mitsubishi finally achieved annual production of one million cars in 1980, but by this time its ally was not so healthy; As part of its battle to avoid bankruptcy, Chrysler was forced to sell its Australian manufacturing division to MMC that year. The new Japanese owners renamed it Mitsubishi Motors Australia Ltd (MMAL).’ (,Mitsubishi Motors (1980s) - Wikipedia,) ‘In 1982, the Mitsubishi brand was introduced to the American market for the first time. The Tredia sedan, and the Cordia and Starion coupés, were initially sold through seventy dealers in 22 states, with an allocation of 30,000 vehicles between them. This quota, restricted by mutual agreement between the two countries' governments, had to be included among the 120,000 cars earmarked for Chrysler. A restricting element of Mitsubishi's deal with Chrysler was that Chrysler had the right of first refusal of any Mitsubishi automobiles in the US market until 1990. Toward the end of the 1980s, as MMC initiated a major push to increase its U.S. presence, it aired its first national television advertising campaign and made plans to increase its dealer network to 340 dealers.’ (,Mitsubishi Motors (1980s) - Wikipedia,) ‘Despite the ongoing tensions between Chrysler and Mitsubishi, they agreed to unite in a vehicle manufacturing operation in Normal, Illinois. The 50/50 venture provided a way to circumvent the voluntary import restrictions, while providing a new line of compact and subcompact cars for Chrysler. Diamond-Star Motors (DSM)—from the parent companies' logos: three diamonds (Mitsubishi) and a pentastar (Chrysler)—was incorporated in October 1985, and in April 1986 ground was broken on a 1.9 million square-foot (177,000 m2) production facility in Normal, Illinois. In 1987, the company was selling 67,000 cars a year in the U.S., but when the plant was completed in March 1988 it offered an annual capacity of 240,000 vehicles. Initially, three platform-sharing compact 2+2 coupés were released, the Mitsubishi Eclipse, Eagle Talon and Plymouth Laser, with other models being introduced in subsequent years.’ (source: ,Mitsubishi Motors (Diamond-Star Motors) - Wikipedia,) ‘Mitsubishi Motors went public in 1988, ending its status as the only one of Japan's eleven auto manufacturers to be privately held. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries agreed to reduce its share to 25 percent, retaining its position as largest single stockholder. Chrysler, meanwhile, increased its holding to over 20 percent. The capital raised by this initial offering enabled Mitsubishi to pay off part of its debts, as well as to expand its investments throughout south-east Asia where it was by now operating in the Philippines, Malaysia, and Thailand.’ (source: ,Mitsubishi Motors (1988 IPO) - Wikipedia,) ‘Hirokazu Nakamura became president of Mitsubishi in 1989 and steered the company in some promising directions, with the advent of the Japanese asset price bubble "market correction" that led to the Lost Decade as a result of the Plaza Accord agreement signed in 1985. Sales of the company's new Pajero were bucking conventional wisdom by becoming popular even in the crowded streets of Japan.’ ‘It was heavily rumored by Japanese media, in 1992 and 1993, that Mitsubishi Motors intended a hostile acquisition of Honda. While Mitsubishi was riding high off of profitable vehicles such as the Diamante and Pajero, Honda was caught off-guard with the SUV and truck boom and was losing focus after the illness and later death of its founder. However, Honda CEO Nobuhiko Kawamoto took drastic steps, such as exiting Formula 1 and discontinuing unprofitable vehicles to avert a Mitsubishi takeover, which proved effective.’ ‘Although sales of SUVs and light trucks were booming in the U.S., Japan's car manufacturers dismissed the idea that such a trend could occur in their own country. Nakamura, however, increased the budget for sport utility product development, and his gamble paid off; Mitsubishi's wide line of four-wheel drive vehicles, from the Mitsubishi Pajero Mini kei car to the Delica Space Gear passenger van, rode the wave of SUV-buying in Japan in the early to mid-1990s, and Mitsubishi saw its overall domestic share rise to 11.6 percent in 1995.’ (source: ,Mitsubishi Motors (1990s) - Wikipedia,) ‘Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) participated in a ¥540 billion emergency rescue of Mitsubishi Motors in January 2005, in partnership with Mitsubishi Corporation and Mitsubishi Tokyo Financial Group. As part of the rescue, MHI acquired ¥50 billion of Mitsubishi Motors stock, increasing its ownership stake to 15 percent and making the automaker an affiliate again. The emergency rescue was carried out 4 years after a product recall scandal in Japan that was triggered by accussations of Mitsubishi Motors allegedly trying to systematically hide manufacturing defects to avoid recalls, and marketing problems in the US.‘ (source: ,Mitsubishi Motors (2000s) - Wikipedia,) ‘In 1991, Chrysler sold its equity stake in Diamond-Star Motors to its partner Mitsubishi, and from then on the two companies continued to share components and manufacturing on a contractual basis only. Chrysler decreased its interest in Mitsubishi Motors to less than three percent in 1992, and announced its decision to divest itself of all its remaining shares on the open market in 1993. The two companies then terminated their close alliance, with Mitsubishi no longer supplying parts for engines and transmissions for Chrysler. After this period, Mitsubishi sought alliances with many other automotive manufacturers in different areas of the world, as described under "other alliances" below, with its most economically significant alliance being with Nissan to develop and manufacture kei cars.’ (source: ,Mitsubishi Motors (Independence) - Wikipedia,) ‘South Korean manufacturer Hyundai, built the Hyundai Pony in 1975 using MMC's Saturn engine and transmissions. Korea's first car, it remained in production for thirteen years. Mitsubishi held up to a 10 percent stake in the company, until disposing of the last of its remaining shares in March 2003.’ ‘The 1985 Hyundai Excel was sold in the United States as the Mitsubishi Precis between 1987 and 1994, whereas several other Mitsubishi models were rebadged as Hyundai, namely the Mitsubishi Chariot (as the Hyundai Santamo), the Mitsubishi Pajero (as the Hyundai Galloper) or the Mitsubishi Delica (as the Hyundai Porter) and Mitsubishi Proudia (as the Hyundai Equus).’ (source: ,Mitsubishi Motors (Hyundai) - Wikipedia,) Therefore, when Hyundai was just a smaller ‘Korean’ car company (as the same thing did with Kia when they only utilise their cars from the Japanese Mazda car manufacturer before), Hyundai too started their first car (the Italian-designed ,Hyundai Pony, compact) that possessed a handful of mechanical parts straight out of Mitsubishi Motors’ cars (hence the ,Mitsubishi Saturn (aka 4G3) engine,), a practise Hyundai did to their 1980s and 1990s cars until they developed mechanical parts of its own (especially for the engines’ architectures being Mitsubishi-based, like for example is the ,Mitsubishi 6G7 V6 engine,), which started from the ,Hyundai Alpha inline-four engine,, and others too (also Hyundai utilised Mitsubishi’s already trademarked ,Gasoline direct injection, technology for their engines too, which was also practised by VAG/VW, and other car companies, especially TOYOTA with its ,2GR-FSE V6 engine,). As going back to the Mitsubishi under Toyota ownership banter: As for Toyota in the 1970s (the decade where Mitsubishi was then purchased and owned by Chrysler), they rather felt a little relaxed after buying ,Hino Motors (Toyota’s lorry/truck manufacturing division), in 1967, the same year Toyota even triggered a partnership with small car specialist ,Daihatsu,, whose attempts to invest itself overseas (specifically in ‘Europe’, the British Isles, the U.S. (but not in Canada), and Australia/NZ) had been better off worse. Hence Daihatsu attempted to establish a foothold in the U.S. automotive market with the Charade as its first car, until it stopped its operations in 1992. But, there were only three Daihatsu vehicles had been sold inside U.S. soil, hence the ,Daihatsu Feroza (dubbed in ‘Europe’ and AU/NZ as the Daihatsu Feroza, the Daihatsu Sportrak in the UK, and the Daihatsu Rocky in the U.S.),, the ,Daihatsu Hijet that was even made an appearance on the first episode of MTV’s now-dead ‘Pimp My Ride’ TV programme,, and EVEN the ,Daihatsu Charade, as well, an idea Toyota experienced with killing off ,Scion, in 2013 (a U.S.-exclusive marque established by Japan’s still leading automaker that was focused on younger car buyers). So, when Toyota found the solution to boost its revenues/budget once again (after buying Hino and tying the knot with Daihatsu), by importing such cult favourites like the Starlet (now replaced by the Yaris), Carina (which was a twin to the Corona whose name is not used in ‘Europe’ and the UK/Ireland), Celica, Land Cruiser, Hilux, Hiace, Corolla, and others overseas. Especially Toyota had the honour of developing the ,[Toyota] Kijang, MPV (dubbed in the Philippines as the Toyota Tamaraw and in Papua New Guinea as the Toyota Traka) that was only focused on the Southeast Asian automotive market, as hence the model’s name means 'Kerja Sama Indonesia-Jepang' (which also means in English as ‘Indonesia-Japan Cooperation’) and ‘deer’ (,muntjac,) in Indonesian and Malay (Bahasa Indonesia and Bahasa Malaysia). Also the Kijang/Tamaraw had also been a hit to Toyota’s Southeast Asian operations (so do in Taiwan, where it was called as the ,Toyota Zace,), it even reached India with the Mk3/third generation Kijang being called as the ‘,Toyota Qualis,’ (produced from 2000 to 2004), and even South Africa as the ,Toyota Venture (aka Toyota Stallion for pickup/ute version only), as well (an example of how the Toyota Kijang being sold overseas with such names). So when Mitsubishi felt uncertain about its alliance with Chrysler, therefore they even developed a Mk2/second generation ,Mitsubishi Delica (aka Mitsubishi L300 and Mitsubishi Express (also marketed as a Chrysler) in Australia), that would later become a popular model running on the roads of the Philippines since it was introduced and produced there (Philippines) in 1987 (until onwards as of now), especially Mitsubishi had experienced of suffering recalls for their cars in the past, such as this info (from: ,Mitsubishi extends recall of faulty cars as scandal widens | The Japan Times,), seen below: ‘Mitsubishi Motors Corp. said Tuesday it will recall another 88,000 vehicles following a previous recall announcement in July, admitting that the firm had been systematically hiding user complaint documents from authorities for at least 23 years.’ ‘In some cases, MMC secretly fixed defective cars to avoid a recall. The start of such practices could date back to 1969, when the recall system was established in Japan, ministry officials said.’ ‘“This is very regrettable. From the viewpoint of user safety, this kind of thing should never happen,” said a sour-faced Transport Minister Hajime Morita, who met MMC President Katsuhiko Kawasoe when he went to the ministry Tuesday to apologize for the debacle.’ ‘Kawasoe took with him the results of an in-house investigation carried out after the defect coverups first came to light in July.’ ‘The latest recall, which affects vehicles produced from 1998 until Aug. 6, includes 45,374 units of the firm’s Minicab, whose fuel cap valve is feared to leak gasoline; 32,371 Gallants, in which a problem was found with the fuel tanks; and 7,202 Lancers, which have a fault in the structure maintaining stability in its rear wheels.’ ‘Six accidents caused by the defective autos have been reported so far, including a traffic accident involving MMC’s multipurpose vehicle Pajero in Kumamoto Prefecture in June in which two people suffered whiplash, according to the Transport Ministry.’ ‘In addition to the 88,000 defective autos to be recalled, MMC is also required by an ordinance to fix 8,889 Delica vehicles, which have a weak and defective damper weight, the ministry said.’ ‘MMC also will voluntarily launch “service campaigns” for 6,617 Diamante vehicles that were produced between September 1999 and May this year, as well as 100,900 Minicab units that were produced from December 1998 through July 3 of this year, the ministry said.’ ‘According to Transport Ministry officials, MMC said employees had stamped some complaint documents from users with an “H” mark, hiding them from regular inspection by the ministry since at least 1977.’ ‘Of 88,000 user complaints reported since April 1998, MMC said it hid about 64,000 from ministry inspectors. , the officials said. In July, the ministry conducted a surprise inspection of MMC, which uncovered a mountain of hidden complaint documents and led to the recall of 532,000 automobiles.’ ‘MMC subsequently launched the in-house investigation committee and submitted a report to the Transport Ministry on Tuesday, admitting the firm hid certain information in an organized way, with approval of department chief-level executives.’ ‘The Transport Ministry is now considering slapping administrative penalties on MMC as early as September for violations of relevant laws by falsifying reports, which could force MMC to pay a fine of up to 1 million yen. , the officials said. Speaking at a news conference Tuesday, Kawasoe admitted what he described as “double management” of complaints from consumers and other product information since September 1977.’ ‘“We have been conducting improper practices in quality management over a long time,” Kawasoe said. “There is no way we can make an excuse for that. We are facing a very regrettable situation that can be described as a lack of respect for regulations.”’ ‘In handling complaints and other product information from consumers, MMC separated information on defects for which the causes were difficult to discern and therefore hard to explain to the Transport Ministry during inspections.’ ‘This double handling of information has led to quality control methods that are at odds with the regular handling of such data and also with measures to follow up on complaints, Kawasoe admitted.’ ‘The practice, which started in 1977 when some employees decided not to disclose information, subsequently become routine practice, he said.’ ‘Kawasoe said he will severely punish board members and employees in connection with the scandal, including cutting wages, but he ruled out the possibility of resigning himself.’ Also from a news article from four years ago (,Mitsubishi Motors admits using unapproved efficiency tests for 25 years | The Japan Times,): ‘Embattled automaker Mitsubishi Motors Corp. admitted Tuesday that its method of testing fuel efficiency, which does not comply with Japanese standards, has been in use since 1991, much longer than it had previously stated.’ ‘The Tokyo-based automaker said it is investigating why its testing specialists have used the unapproved method for a quarter-century.’ ‘“We are not sure if they were even aware that it was the wrong method. When it started, they might have thought it was correct, and that thought was then passed down, so it is possible that they did it without questioning why,” Mitsubishi Motors President Tetsuro Aikawa told a news conference at the transport ministry.’ ‘The automaker was ordered by the transport ministry to investigate the matter and report back by Wednesday.’ ‘The unapproved testing method — known as a running test — is one that is used in the United States. It helps to save time, but Japanese regulators have never approved its use.’ ‘Mitsubishi said it compared the test’s outcomes with those of the approved Japanese test in 2001 and found barely any discrepancies. The difference was a matter of 2.3 percent, at most, it said.’ ‘The firm said it will compare the two methods once again, adding that it is not sure how many cars received the unapproved tests.’ ‘Regarding a separate scandal involving massaged fuel efficiency figures for more than 620,000 minicars, Mitsubishi said it is still investigating what happened and why. Four car models were involved.’ ‘The firm repeatedly set higher fuel efficiency goals for its minicars, and this may have pressured employees not to let the team down, Mitsubishi executives said.’ ‘For 157,000 units of the eK Wagon and eK Space models sold by Mitsubishi and 468,000 units of Dayz and Dayz Roox supplied for Nissan, Mitsubishi intentionally used figures for tire and air resistance that would be small on the road.’ ‘Mitsubishi stopped assembling and shipping the affected cars last week after the scandal came to light.’ ‘Analysts say the firm potentially faces huge costs for compensating parties involved, including car buyers, Nissan and the government — which granted it tax discounts for fuel-efficient cars.’ ‘The firm is scheduled to announce its earnings for fiscal 2015 on Wednesday but is likely to skip announcing its forecast due to future uncertainties.’ ‘Its shares crashed again Tuesday, closing the day’s trading at the Tokyo Stock Exchange at ¥434, down 9.58 percent. The automaker’s stock price has halved since the scandal broke a week ago.’ ‘Authorities raided the company’s office last week after its initial admission of error and the firm has warned that the number of affected vehicles could rise. So far it has not included those sold overseas.’ ‘The analysts say the revelations raise questions about Mitsubishi’s future and point to a broader problem in the global car industry as regulators probe other automakers’ pollution and fuel-efficiency claims.’ ‘Embattled German carmaker Volkswagen said Friday the massive test-dodging scandal it is currently engulfed in pushed it into its first annual loss in more than 20 years, but that the final costs still cannot be estimated.’ ‘Also Friday, Germany’s transport minister Alexander Dobrindt said a probe sparked by Volkswagen’s emissions-rigging scandal found irregularities at 16 car brands, including Mercedes, France’s Renault, Alfa Romeo, Chevrolet, Hyundai, Jaguar, and Nissan.’ ‘Information from AFP-Jiji added’ Therefore, that was how Mitsubishi Motors would predict those things when it was part of a certain, ailing American automaker (Chrysler) at that ttme, then when tensions between Chrysler and Mitsubishi Motors were about to rose somewhere in the 1980s. Then Mitsubishi would have sever its partnership with Chrysler, and instead form an aliiance with Toyota, which meant that if Mitsubishi sided with Toyota (than the mediocre and now-dying Chrysler marque) in the 1980s, then Toyota would rather become a conductor to Mitsubishi by sharing its works like its transmissions, and their inline four and six engines that was powered inside the Corolla (so do the deeply iconic and FR AE86), Supra, Land Cruiser, Hilux, and even other models as well. But instead of establishing DSM (Diamond-Star Motors) in the U.S. (for Mitsubishi) and forming an alliance with General Motors in North America and Australia (for Toyota), therefore Toyota and Mitsubishi Motors would rather form a partnership in regards of Mitsubishi merging with Toyota’s operations abroad, for examples were the ,NUMMI (New United Motor Manufacturing, Inc.), plant (in California, U.S.) that is now already called as the ,Tesla Factory,), and the ,United Australian Automobile Industries (UAAI), plant in Melbourne, Australia as well, rather than those where once part of Chrysler’s Australia and NZ operations (see: ,Mitsubishi Motors Australia - Wikipedia,). Especially, that would let Toyota to keep its lead in the Japanese automotive industry, while Mitsubishi Motors would end up dethroning Nissan in second place as a result of the alternate history (a Toyota-Mitsubishi partnership). Therefore, Mitsubishi Motors joining Toyota’s orbit would have been circa 1970s (probably 1977, if Chrysler ownership got vanished), when the Mitsubishi nameplate was absent in the U.S. and Canada until 1982. Also in 1982, India’s government-founded ,Maruti Udyog, (established in 1981) should have preferred Mitsubishi Motors over Suzuki as its partner, in the end, Maruti merged with Mitsubishi (the car company), and formed ‘Maruti Mitsubishi’ (instead of Maruti Suzuki) as a result of a joint venture agreement between MU (Maruti Udyog) and MMC (Mitsubishi Motors Corporation), which would end up producing a handful of Mitsubishi cars (ex: ,Mitsubishi Minicab,) under licence (also built exclusively for Indian roads). Chrysler on the other hand, changed its mind after losing Mitsubishi to Toyota’s umbrella, and instead joined Ford as to pay tribute to Lee Iacocca (who worked for Ford before Chrysler), so Chrysler Europe was took over by Ford’s ‘European’ operations (instead of Peugeot) in 1978. Mitsubishi’s merger with Toyota later led to building its cars that were based on Toyota vehicles (just as how Hyundai does to Kia now), the Pajero shared the same chassis as the Land Cruiser, and the Starion had shared the same skeleton with the [Celica] Supra for example. Mazda, which is a Japanese automaker that has a deeply poor experience in ,off-roading, than in those pertaining to ,road racing,, had formed an alliance with the ‘Ford-Chrysler Alliance’ in 1979, but twelve years later, the Toyota-Mitsubishi union had targeted a financial takeover of Mazda after winning the 1991 24 Hours of Le Mans race (which made Mazda the first Japanese marque to win the deeply famous endurance racing event) that was later resulted to ,a ban on rotary engines in Le Mans (1992),, rather than a plan to buy Honda before and after Soichiro Honda’s death on 5 August 1991, which resulted to Honda being targeted by a Mitsubishi purchase (from 1992 to 1993) that was later avoided with Honda leaving F1 and cancelling the production of unsuccessful models. Then the deal with the Toyota-Mitsubishi partnership had resulted to Mazda’s alliance with the hypothetical Ford-Chrysler union ended, as with models like 323, MX-5, 626, etc were all planned to be based on the architecture of Toyota and Mitsubishi’s cars, but the addition of Mazda too had brought an end to the usage of rotary engines, as Toyota planned to develop boxer and V6 engines, and also hybrid cars like the Prius (while RX-7 production was aborted, Mazda instead developed the MX-6 as based on the Toyota Celica). Nissan on the other hand, had owned ,Subaru, from 1986 to 1999 (the year Nissan accidentally joined Renault and Subaru incidentally joined GM before Toyota bought and owned Subaru from 2005 onwards), so when Nissan (which was not owned by one antiquarian French automaker hence Renault) was demoted to the bottom (by the historically hypothetical Toyota-Mitsubishi merger) of the rankings in Japan’s automotive market, therefore Nissan too would rather purchase the Honda that was just a small Japanese marque (which not just builds cars like Mitsubishi and Korea’s Hyundai do). So, Honda had went on to stay and race in Formula One, then Nissan supported Honda’s role in F1, and decided to be a longtime participant, which was the point that Honda avoided a Mitsubishi takeover just to leave F1. Nissan developed the 300ZX as a mid-engined production sports car, then Honda shared its chassis, and went on to develop the NSX instead, which did not utilised twin turbochargers compared to its Nissan sibling. The Civic on the other hand, was later built on the Nissan Sunny/Pulsar chassis, the Nissan Sentra shared the same platform as the former, and the Accord was instead based upon the skeleton of the Nissan Bluebird (aka Stanza) Then in the end, Honda under a hypothetical Nissan ownership circa 1980s would have Nissan to trademark ,VTEC, at the same time Honda do, as for Nissan (which was not owned by the French Renault) being the conductor and parent to Honda, Honda would rather develop SUVs and pickups/utes being derived from the ,Nissan Pathfinder (aka Nissan Terrano outside of the U.S. market),, its larger ,[Nissan] Patrol, sibling, and the ,Nissan Hardbody (aka Nissan Navara and Nissan Datsun) pickup,, instead of dealing with ,Isuzu for the Honda Passport that was only sold for the North American market, as an example. How is driving a Japanese car in Japan, bought in Japan, different from driving a Japanese car in America, bought in America?

Apart from everything being in Japanese, the steering wheel is on the wrong side of the car, the car is usually a small box made to fit the weeny space you have to park it in, and the other drivers on the road are far more competent and less aggressive than they are in your home country. My Japanese brother in law said there was no language option on his Satnav either, but that may be because he’s either not technically minded or didn’t want to spend the time finding out how as he wouldn’t be able to change it back as he doesn’t speak English! Otherwise they should be the same, though some export models have different interiors. For instance my “Made in Thailand” Nissan Navara truck is not made in Thailand and all. The whole vehicle is shipped to Thailand where the interior - considered suitable for Asia Pacific region - is added. The truck is then shipped to wherever, in my case Philippines. My brother in law in UK (not Japanese!) has had 4 Navaras, one of which was a 2008 like mine. Outwardly they looked the same, but the interior of the UK version was far better than mine, looking like a posh car, with steering wheel buttons etc., whereas mine ,looks, like a truck…

What is a Philippine car? A car that is made from Philippines?

That sounds as if you think that Philippines are a kind of pineapple or something! No cars are made in Philippines, only assembled, the main Toyota plant for instance being in Santa Rosa, Laguna. The auto industry here does well, but it's all CKD/CBU, in other words Completely Knocked Down/Completely Built Up units. VW in Malaysia are CKD, though the complete car is shipped there with only the wheels added in country! "Thai made Navara" like I have (a Nissan truck) is the complete truck shipped from Japan for the interior to be added in Thailand. Apparently Asia Pacific owners prefer a different interior to western and Japanese consumers. The Philippines also imports megatons of scrap metal in the form of surplus multicabs and jeepneys. These dire vehicles are anachronistic in the 21st century, but some powerful oligarch probably owns the business. There is no locally designed and made Philippines brand apart from those bodged surplus imports from Korea and Japan above.

Dear car enthusiasts from the rest of Europe plus the UK, Australia/NZ, India, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and South Africa: Should Subaru hypothetically acquire and push 'Isuzu' to bankruptcy like Saab and British Leyland?

I am a foreigner here, but I will showcase you the details coming from the link I sourced this question I made by myself: === Diesel's downfall spelled the end of Toyota-Isuzu alliance - Nikkei Asia “,Breakup to hasten reorganization in commercial vehicle industry,” “,NAGOYA, Japan -- The global retreat from diesel fuel has prompted Toyota Motor and Isuzu Motors to end a 12-year partnership as both automakers recalibrate their growth strategies.,” “,"There were no gains from the capital tie-up," Koichi Seto, an Isuzu senior executive officer, told a press briefing on Aug. 3. "There is no overlap between the companies lately.",” “,The two Japanese automakers formed a capital tie-up in November 2006 to jointly develop a 1.6-liter diesel engine for small passenger cars in Europe. Isuzu is strong in diesel technology, an area where Toyota hoped to improve through the partnership. But Toyota would soon shift its focus to hybrid vehicles, bringing joint development to an end.,” “,After that, the pair rarely exchanged engineers. Toyota has since accelerated reviews of its operations and costs, including its investments in other companies. "We completely re-evaluated our strategic stockholdings," said one Toyota executive.,” “,Stronger regulations against diesel in such markets as the U.K., France and China were likely behind the decision, although Seto denies that played a factor. Starting this year, Toyota will no longer sell new passenger cars with diesel engines in Europe.,” “,Toyota will proceed with truck and bus development through subsidiary Hino Motors. Hino has already developed a hybrid truck and in April began studying joint development of diesel and electric vehicles with Volkswagen's bus and truck segment.,” “,Toyota views commercial vehicles as a touchstone for next-generation technologies because they operate on designated routes, making advancements in electrification and automated driving easy to introduce. Hino's partnership with Volkswagen will be key to the commercial vehicle segment, which is a crucial part of the group's overall strategy.,” “,Isuzu, meanwhile, is looking for a new collaborator as the only major Japanese producer of commercial vehicles without a European partner. Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus is backed by Daimler, and UD Trucks by Volvo.,” “,There are companies that want to team up with Isuzu, according to industry insiders, due to the automaker's technological prowess in light trucks and strength in Southeast Asia. The end of the partnership with Toyota also presents greater opportunity for foreign automakers to approach Isuzu.,” “,But the business environment around commercial vehicles is tough. Daimler has a technological driver in Mitsubishi Fuso while Volkswagen and Hino hold an advantage over Isuzu. Chinese automakers like FAW Group and Dongfeng Motor Group also hold five of the top 10 global market shares thanks to climbing sales in a vast home market.,” “,There is a ceiling on Isuzu's technological advancement given its limited funds. Although the company worked on state-led projects like automated commercial vehicles with Hino, the latter's announcement of a potential comprehensive partnership with Volkswagen has clouded prospects for future cooperation.,” “,Isuzu is accelerating its search for a partner to help defray investment in next-generation technology. "We will look outside the auto industry and consider information technology companies as well," said President Masanori Katayama, referring to the company's early stage efforts to develop automated driving and electrification systems.,” “,Isuzu's net profit climbed 16% on the year to 38.1 billion yen ($343 million) in the April-June quarter. Despite brisk earnings now, it will be difficult for a smaller automaker like Isuzu to survive on its own in the long run without some collaboration with larger peers. A 35-year capital tie-up with General Motors ended in 2006, with Isuzu then teaming with Toyota. As that relationship draws to a close, a new potential partner has yet to appear.,” - source: ,Diesel's downfall spelled the end of Toyota-Isuzu alliance - Nikkei Asia === As for the case of Saab’s demise: “,Saab Automobile AB (/sɑːb/) was a car manufacturer that was founded in Sweden in 1945 when its parent company, Saab AB, began a project to design a small automobile. The first production model, the Saab 92, was launched in 1949. In 1968 the parent company merged with Scania-Vabis, and ten years later the Saab 900 was launched, in time becoming Saab's best-selling model. In the mid-1980s the new Saab 9000 model also appeared.,” “,In 1989, the automobile division of Saab-Scania was restructured into an independent company, Saab Automobile AB. The American manufacturer General Motors (GM) took 50 percent ownership. Two well-known models to come out of this period were the Saab 9-3 and the Saab 9-5. Then in 2000, GM exercised its option to acquire the remaining 50 percent. In 2010 GM sold Saab Automobile AB to the Dutch automobile manufacturer Spyker Cars N.V.,” “,After many years establishing a sound engineering reputation and ultimately a luxury price tag, Saab failed to build its customer base beyond its niche following. After struggling to avoid insolvency throughout 2011, the company petitioned for bankruptcy following the failure of a Chinese consortium to complete a purchase of the company; the purchase had been blocked by the former owner GM, which opposed the transfer of technology and production rights to a Chinese company. On 13 June 2012, it was announced that a newly formed company called National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS) had bought Saab Automobile's bankrupt estate. According to "Saab United", the first NEVS Saab 9-3 drove off its pre-production line on 19 September 2013. Full production restarted on 2 December 2013, initially the same gasoline-powered 9-3 Aero sedans that were built before Saab went bankrupt, and intended to get the automaker's supply chain reestablished as it attempted development of a new line of NEVS-Saab products. NEVS lost its license to manufacture automobiles under the Saab name (which the namesake aerospace company still owns) in the summer of 2014 and now produces electric cars based on the Saab 9-3 but under its own new car designation "NEVS".,” - source: ,Saab Automobile - Wikipedia === As well as for the story of BL aka British Leyland: “,British Leyland was an automotive engineering and manufacturing conglomerate formed in the United Kingdom in 1968 as British Leyland Motor Corporation Ltd (BLMC), following the merger of Leyland Motors and British Motor Holdings. It was partly nationalised in 1975, when the UK government created a holding company called British Leyland, later renamed BL in 1978. It incorporated much of the British-owned motor vehicle industry, which in 1968 had a 40 percent share of the UK car market, with roots going back to 1895.,” “,Despite containing profitable marques such as Jaguar, Rover and Land Rover, as well as the best-selling Mini, British Leyland had a troubled history, leading to its eventual collapse in 1975 and subsequent part-nationalisation.,” “,After much restructuring and divestment of subsidiary companies, BLMC was renamed as the Rover Group in 1986, becoming a subsidiary of British Aerospace from 1988 to 1994, then subsequently being bought by BMW. The final surviving incarnation of the company as the MG Rover Group went into administration in 2005, bringing mass car production by British-owned manufacturers to an end. MG and the Austin, Morris and Wolseley marques became part of China's SAIC, with whom MG Rover attempted to merge prior to administration.,” “,Today, Mini, Jaguar Land Rover and Leyland Trucks (now owned by BMW, Tata Motors and Paccar, respectively) are the three most prominent former parts of British Leyland which are still active in the automotive industry, with SAIC-owned MG Motor continuing a small presence at the Longbridge site. Certain other related ex-BL businesses, such as Unipart, continue to operate independently.,” - source: ,British Leyland - Wikipedia === Now, to the question why should ,Subaru, purchase and dragoon ,Isuzu, to bankruptcy just like the aforementioned European, plus [one is] British, car manufacturers: Because, as I have mentioned that ,Isuzu, deeply focuses on the development of ,diesel engines for cars, and ,lorries/trucks plus buses, of all sizes, especially with the ,electrification of cars, are still ongoing, therefore the acquisition, ,cessation,, and reorganisation of ,Isuzu, into the orbit of ,Subaru, could mean for the ,[Subaru] Forester, manufacturer and its eponymous parent - the ,Subaru Corporation, - to boost its profits - plus revenues - and even businesses… That means, with ,Subaru’s revenue being ¥2,950,000 million, while ,Isuzu’s revenue being ¥1,800,000 million,, perhaps expecting the ,Subaru, car manufacturing company to take over ,Isuzu, before dragging them [Isuzu] to dissolution a la Saab and BL would mean for Scooby - a nickname for Subaru within Britain - to go down with a revenue of ¥1,150,000 million. as a result. But to the opposite of that, expecting Subaru to buy and kill off Isuzu’s businesses might rather save Subaru and its revenues. Especially it could also benefit Subaru from access to a number of markets where Isuzu is deeply big, such as the rest of Southeast Asia, India, Australia/New Zealand, and as well as South Africa… === See also, for you to leave such answers to these questions I made by myself: What do Quora users abroad think of an article coming from Malaysia's Paul Tan titled "Nissan COO Gupta on post-Ghosn recovery"? For Nissan Frontier owners, what advice would you give to someone who might buy one? I'm looking for a base model 2019 Frontier with the manual transmission. Are there any known issues?

Nissan 2020 Pickup aka model code NP30 Frontier/ NP30 Navara Mercedes X Pickup. The Mercedes X-Class isn’t merely a Navara. Despite being the first prestige car maker to enter the ute segment the Mercedes-Benz is still a commercial vehicle, and as such there are workhorse models. The given degree to which consumers already ,know, that the first Mercedes-Benz pickup is based on a Nissan, all of those detailed changes and styling alterations may not be enough to sufficiently distinguish the new Spain/ Argentina-built German truck. The Mercedes-Benz X-Class could easily be labelled, on paper, as a workhorse. Its capabilities are in keeping with other midsize efforts. It’ll tow 7,700 pounds and accept a payload of nearly 2,300 pounds. All four corners are coil-sprung. The standard suspension (outside Europe) offers 8.7 inches of ground clearance; the X-Class can wade into water 23.6 inches deep. Nissan NP30 Is considered one the best commercial Heavy Duty Medium size pick-up worldwide. The design is a Nissan-Mercedes joint venture. The Nissan Code name is the NP30 model. There is a new Nissan plant in Cordoba Argentina assembling the Frontier model. The drivetrain is pure Nissan, but the rear axle is unique to Benz, the front suspension arms have been extended for a wider track, and the springs and dampers have all been selected by Mercedes, rather than Nissan. Will Benz have a top-seller on its hands with the X-Class? Of course not. As a dual-cab only the X-Class won't play for volume. But that doesn't mean it won't be a success for the German firm, expanding its reach into the booming commercial pick-up world wide market. The Benz buyers outside the North America will are offered three engine options - a pair of 2.3-litre four-cylinder turbo diesels (borrowed from the Nissan) for the X220d (with s single turbo) and X250d (with a pair of turbos) as well as a 3.0-litre V6 turbo diesel. Since mid 2018 the X350d variant has joined the range, with the V6 producing 190kW and 550Nm of torque, making it the most powerful ute in its class. The engine and transmission come from the Benz parts bin in this instance, as does the X350d's full-time four wheel drive system. The X220d offers 120kW of power and 403Nm of torque while the X250d gets 140kW/450Nm. The low-output engine will be restricted to a six-speed manual only which is likely to hobble its sale success all over the world, excluding North America, but the X250d will offer a choice of six-speed manual or seven-speed auto. Two wheel drive and selectable four wheel drive will also be available. The market for premium pick-up is booming, Toyota sells its top-spec HiLux SR5 dual-cab in such great numbers Nissan and Mercedes will have to demonstrate their advantages over the other pick-up in the same pick up market segment. The 2020 Frontier ,“is something we are actively working on, and will soon be coming to market.”, Being based on the famous Nissan Navara from Thailand, Australia, Europe, and South America, the all-new model could go official together with the mid-cycle refresh of the Navara 2019. Code named ,D23, and in production since 2014 in places as close to the U.S. the third generation of the Navara-Frontier is available with 2.3- and 2.5-liter engine options, naturally aspirated or turbocharged, running on gasoline or diesel. Transmissions include a six-speed manual and a seven-speed automatic with a torque converter. Turning our attention back to the USA -Canada named the Nissan Frontier, the current generation sold 79,646 examples in the United States in 2018. In addition to being more than the sales volume from 2017, this result also makes the Frontier more popular than the Titan full-size pickup. On the other hand, Nissan can’t match the Toyota Tacoma and Chevrolet Colorado. Priced at $18,990 and coming as standard with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, the Frontier can also be had with a 4.0-liter V6. For the next generation, Nissan for 2020 has a new V6 in the pipeline. At the present moment, it isn't known if the engine will be based on an existing powerplant or a new clean-sheet design in cooperation with Mercedes. Because it will share a lot with the ,Navara,, the USA-Canada Nissan Frontier will be engineered with multi-link rear suspension for superior ride comfort and roadholding. Because of this configuration, Renault and Mercedes-Benz convinced Nissan to lend them the Navara in order to create the Renault Alaskan and The Mercedes X-Class models. The three-pointed star came out with the most potent engine option, namely the Mercedes Engine code ,OM642 in the X 350 d 4Matic., The six-cylinder turbo is capable of churning out 258 PS (255 horsepower) and 550 Nm (406 pound-feet) of torque. The X-Class is on sale and available only from Mercedes’ commercial vehicle network in UK. It will be offered in two and four-wheel drive forms with four and six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, and with a wide range of Mercedes-engineered options and accessories. Acknowledging that Mercedes-Benz doesn’t commonly seek platform partners in the passenger car sector, Mercedes says, “We had a target of introducing the car at a short-term notice, and as it’s a global product, we could not build-up one facility for this product.” Indeed, that inability to quickly build a U.S. factory for the X-Class all but eliminates the X-Class from reaching the U.S. market because of 25% high Chicken Tax import tariffs.
