The Nissan Navara, the brand's popular pickup truck, is getting a facelift to help keep it competitive in its hotly-contested segment. The NP300 has been spied doing development rounds in Mexico, in heavy camouflage. This incoming model is part of a 12-new-model assault by Nissan, which includes the new Z-car (you can watch the teaser here).
Despite the camouflage, you can see the Navara retains its familiar silhouette, with updates to the grille and headlight design (which now features 2-piece boomerang-shaped DRLs). This update brings the 2021 Navara closer to the new family face of Nissan, the 'V-Motion' design.
Mechanically, there should be no major changes, which means the 2021 Navara should still sport the 2.5-litre turbo-diesel engine (190PS, 450 Nm) and 7-speed automatic transmission. Whilst not class-leading in terms of power output, these figures remain competitive in this segment.
The 2021 Navara could make its global debut late this year, or early 2021. Will you choose the new Navara over a Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger, or a Mitsubishi Triton?
