Chery saw 60% spike in global sales in Q1 2024, exports grew 40.1%

Chery Holding announced that a total of 181,585 vehicles were sold worldwide in March 2024 which was a 45.3% surge compared to the same month last year.
With that, the Anhui carmaker saw its cumulative sales figure for the first quarter of 2024 (Q1 2024) climbed 60.3% to 529,604 units. Exports rose 40.9% to 253,418 units while new energy vehicles (plug-in hybrids and battery EVs combined) soared 124.3% to 60,133 units in the first 3 months of 2024.

The company's Chery brand sold 350,314 vehicles in the first quarter of 2024, a 57.6% increase compared to the same quarter in 2023.
Meanwhile, the Exeed and Jetour sub-brands sold 23,493 vehicles and 107,476 vehicles respectively in Q1 2024 – a rise of 44.4% and 106.9% respectively.

Furthermore, the newest sub-brand under Chery Holding, iCar achieved 5,487 units for its debut model, the iCar 03 in its first month of launch. The iCar 03 is a battery-electric (BEV) SUV and could be sold as the Jaecoo J6 outside of China as seen in its Thailand preview.

It is worth noting that sales of Jaecoo were not listed in the company’s quarterly figures report as it is exclusive to overseas. Jaecoo is expected to make its Malaysian launch soon with registrations of interest (RoI) for the Jaecoo J7 set to open from 10 April 2024.
