When temperature is below 20 degrees drivers are authorized to purchase fuel additive to add to the tanks to protect from fuel gel. You can purchase this on your fuel card. Any kind is fine, use according to directions on the bottle. #driveforptl #preventativemaintenance https://t.co/xPNlRKYt5f
This depends on where the carbon build up is. Carbon build up on the intake valves of some direct injected engines won't be removed by any fuel or fuel additive. That's due to the fact that fuel never contacts the stem side of the valve like it does on “ regular “ multiport fuel injection systems. In these cases using motor oils with lower volatility levels can help prevent new deposits from forming. But once extensive intake valve deposits have already formed, the solutions may involve at least removing the intake manifold to physically clean deposits.
I don't know anything about the product, but then I don't really need to. It does not help clean intake valves, because it physically can't. It never comes into contact with the back of the intake valves!
As often as you like. The fractions that make it up are all used in petrol now. There are a lot of old wives tales that are not supported by any facts. It damages… has no basis. The individual fractions are already in the fuel you use. That there is ANY gain. This is another in the performance airfilter plugs leads coils scams. IF there was a gain that was actually measurable the companies would publish the results. Fuel additives give a similar outcome. IF adding something to fuels gave an improvement in any metric do you seriously think car companies would not get the fuel standards upgraded. If an engineer at GM found that adding 0.01% of nitromethane to fuel it gave a 1% improvement in economy power or emmisions that GM would get the standard changed. Oh a 1% gain in mileage is 3 miles on a tank if you run it all out. However all these off the shelf upgrades are measured on a calibrated Doofus scale. Even if a fuel additive was 100% 87 octane from Wally's discount fuels it would be rated on the Doofus scale. It works or I'm a Doofus. Want to argue the toss? Produce the test results from an independent test. Come to think of it I might as well join the game and bottle some 95 octane with my secret ingredient. Eucalyptus oil. All I need is a pretty bottle with a sexy extendable neck and the promise that a bottle every 2 tanks will ,help your economy by controlling buildup in your fuel system. Only available by direct ,free, ,shipping.
Is there any situation where a fuel additive could do damage to your engine? I think the answer is no but I have a few qualifiers that go with my opinion. Use only a name brand fuel additive such as Chevron ,Techron: Get the Ultimate Upgrade, and read, understand and follow the directions. Do not use any unbranded fuel additive no matter what you read on the internet. You should also know that this same Techron fuel additive is included in every ounce of Chevron fuel you purchase and this applies to all three grades of Chevron gasoline as well. Chevron is what is known as a Top Tier gasoline merchant. There are others. All Top Tier gasoline contains a detergent(s) in the product which is why it is simply advisable to use a Top Tier branded gasoline and avoid fuel additives. Here is the link to Top Tier gasoline merchants. ,Homepage
I own a 3+ years old BS-4 NS 200 and let me describe from my point of view. I also own a Honda Unicorn which is almost 9.5 years old now. I am an avid tourer. The first long trip in my life was to Darjeeling in 2016 with my then 5 years old Unicorn. Darjeeling is around 570+ kms from my home. Guess what, the engine of my Unicorn was badly damaged for extended periods of riding at around 75–80 kmph. In 5 years the bike had run only around 22k kms and was fully serviced with oil chage and everything The Engine block and piston had to be replaced. That was my first bike. I never allowed anyone to ride it. I cqnnot prove it here, but I used to get a mileage of 54–58 (,my city has wide roads and less traffic,), ,from my Unicorn, which indicates that I had a gentle right hand. Picture from 2016 Fast-forward to 2018. My first trip to Arunachal Pradesh with my NS 200. ,That is the extreme north east of the country, very remote and a long way from West Bengal. ,Total round trip distance was 3400+ kms in 11 days. Bum La, Arunachal Pradesh (2018) My next long trip with the NS was again to Darjeeling in January 2020. Total roundtrip diatance was 1200+ kms. I could comfortably keep up with the white Polo GT and the enfield was the one lagging behind. So let's come to the maintenance part. On my Unicorn I used to put Castrol semi synthetic oil with grade as specified by Honda. After around 1800–2000 kms I had to drain the oil as it would become muddy and loose it's colour. Moreover the engine used to heat after the above mentioned period even if it was running at 50–60 kmph continuously. So I had no other option but to change the engine oil. In my NS 200 I use Motun 7100 full synthetic oil and I drain it after around 3800 to 4200 kms. Is the NS 200 really more expensive to maintain..? Yes it is not as smooth as the Honda. The engine is not as refined as the Unicorn or a CBR 250 for a proper comparison. Yes the running costs are higher than the Unicorn and it should be because of a bigger and more sophisticated engine and it should be so. But for a 200 cc engine, which can sprint upto 140+ kmph, cruise 580+ kms a day for multiple days at speeds of 85–90 kmph, I don't think I am paying too much money for the abilities and performance that I am getting. That 6th gear and the tall gear ratios are a boon for me. The engine has never overheated till now. I have heard the radiator fan come up only twice in all these years. Yes sometimes there are issues with tappet noise and all it needs is valve adjustment and voila !! The tappet noises are all gone. But then again, ride any bike for more than 500 kms a day, and it will have tappet noises. Am I lucky with Bajaj..? Maybe…or maybe that I am mindful of my bike and how I ride it. Maybe I believe in preventive maintenance and that's why my bike runs like a charm. UPDATE 1 :, (24/06/2020) THANK YOU, everyone, for such a wonderful response. I would just like to share something with everyone I maintain with my motorcycle : This is ,Molybdenum Di-Sulphide. ,This is a lubricant, a solid lubricant which has a very high flashpoint, and can work comfortably under high heat. Just an example, MoS2 is used in Avionics and Astronomical applications. This really makes a difference, at least in my case it has. Now many people will say a lot of things over this, and I'm sure you guys have also heard a about a lot of engine oil or fuel additives. Liquid additives don't work, period. I use Motul 7100 (15W 50), so my engine oil is over specified for NS 200. IF YOU USE A COMPARABLE ENGINE OIL, LIQUID ADDITIVES DON'T WORK. And the chances of a liquid additive actually benefitting an inferior grade engine oil is too low to consider as additives are way too low in volume to make any real change, plus the cost won't add up. MoS2 has worked because it is solid. The engine cannot burn it, or heat it up so much as to loose it's viscosity, because a solid does not have viscosity. The result of using this is, The engine feels a lot smoother and sounds better as there is lesser friction. Revs a bit faster I can feel lot less heat when I am riding in chappals Gear shifts are smoother (Not Honda smooth, but still, a significant improvement) Improvement in mileage , because there is lesser friction to deal with in the first place. All the above improvements are directly related to friction. I think you can give this product a try. Do let me know how it goes. ,But, please add this with a fresh engine oil, to properly understand the benefit, and do change the engine oil filter before adding it.
Good Lord, no!!!!!! AdBlue is a Diesel Exhaust Fluid used in diesels, stored in a separate tank, and slowly flowed directly into the catalyst system as an exhaust aftertreatment for NOx improvement. It is not for gasoline engines, and it is not a fuel additive.
The rise of Hitler and the National Socialist Party was funded with assistance from Prescott Bush and Union Bank where he served, the German Military build up was assisted by Henry Ford, and the fuel additives needed to run their military vehicles was supplied by Standard Oil (Rockefellers). Despite President Roosevelt’s orders for unconditional surrender of the NAZI war machine, Allen Dulles, in direct insubordination, negotiated the Nazi surrender in certain parts of Italy. Dulles also recruited former intelligence officers of the Nazi SS to set up Western Intelligence Services in Europe just after WWII.
A normal combustion engine relies on a carburetor to deliver fuel to the engine cylinders while in a direct fuel injection engine the gasoline is pumped through a small nozzle under high pressure. As a result it makes the engine more fuel efficient, increases power delivery, lower carbon emission, smoother functionality and can operate on different fuel additives and composition.
Redex ,markets several fuel additives for both gasoline (petrol) and Diesel fuels. There is no indication, in the published directions, regarding seasonal use. Some Diesel fuel additives are intended specifically to minimize fuel gelling in cold ambient temps and these are not harmful in warmer conditions. As is the case with most fuel additives, your results may vary. Most likely, you will notice no improvement, in performance or mileage, ,winter or summer,.
Largely, the use of TEL (lead) has a sordid, scandalous past. The Secret History of Lead It was all about profit. Today, we rely on corn for octane…the ability to resist knock—or premature combustion caused by compression and hot spots in the combustion chamber. But the commitment to “octane” is directly related to the profitability of poisoning humans and the environment with lead as a fuel additive.
