One of these things ,is not, like the others! Elon Musk and Tesla would be fools to sell the Model 3 for $19,000 or even $24,000. The Model 3 outclasses $20,000 cars in looks as well as performance. Tesla can’t make the Model 3 fast enough to keep up with current demand. Tesla doesn’t even advertise. Tesla is succeeding. What is the best 250cc motorcycle currently on the market?

Is there any reason you're not considering the Kawasaki Ninja 250? Kawasaki has a lot of history with sportbikes of that size available in the US, and the current model is very well reviewed. Additionally, its vertical twin engine allows it to rev faster and develop more horsepower than the Honda's single (32 for the Kawasaki vs. 26 for the Honda), although the Honda develops more torque, which is arguably more important for low-speed and city riding. That said, I sat on the Honda CBR250R at the recent International Motorcycle Show in New York, and I was impressed with the level of fit and finish on the bike- typically, 250cc bikes in the US are relegated to low-end status, and do not receive high quality components. The Honda seemed to buck that trend.

What do you think of the looks of the Yamaha FZ25?

‘,Many years and half a dozen iterations later, here’s the Fz we want’,- TOPGEAR After losing fair number of loyalists to other brands for the want of bigger capacity bike, now the YAMAHA is trying to woo them back to the showroom with a fresh new 249cc, single cylinder which makes 20bhp and 20 Nm of torque. At the first glance you’ll surely notice the family design cues - the muscular tank is made to look even bigger now with neatly crafted tank extensions, the naked headlamp has been improved with LED elements and the stout exhaust is simply awesome. Yamaha hasn't changed anything with tires, the same as that of the old FZS, although the FZ25 gets disc brakes both at the front and rear. The upright riding stance, the flat handle bar and the big tank fit in nicely as you thumb the starter to fir up the beast. Overall the FZ25 has some impeccable styling and unmatched class. So no doubt, the FZ25 is the most stylish naked street bike. P.S: I own FZ25 (Knight Black), the review is completely based on my ride and trust me the bike is fun to ride. You’ll never get enough of it. YAMAHA- Revs your Heart FZ25- Feel the force within (True Said) Yours Truly A Yamaha Fan boy Thakur Prateek Singh.

Why do Phillips screwdrivers and corresponding screws even exist? When they slip the trenches of the screws get worn out easily.

The “caming out” feature of a Philips screw was NOT one of its original purposes, as you can see from the original patent ,US1908080A - Screw - Google Patents, A case of rewriting history firmly sighted in the review mirror. The Philips head was designed to make it easier to automate screw insertion (the cruciform shape self-captured the bit), prevent damage to adjacent surfaces from “fly out” (in a slotted-screw the tip can fly to the side under rotation) and for a single screw driver to fit all Philips screws- it was a universal divot that was simply embedded deeper in larger screws. In fact, many people complained about the cam-out as a deleterious side effect. Phillips screw and driver Cam-out is an uncontrolled and inadvertent feature of the Philips- in other screw designs caming is either impossible due to vertical walls or specifically part of the design. Because caming depends on friction between the screw and screw driver, the angle the tip is held, etc, torque limiting drivers are the preferred solution.

Which is the best motor bike in the Royal Enfield series, e.g., Classic 350, 500cc, Thunderbird 350, 500cc, Electra, Continental GT, et cetera?

I have ridden ,Bullet Electra 350,, ,Standard 500,, ,Classic 350,, ,Desert Storm (Classic 500),, ,Thunderbird 500 ,and ,Himalayan,. — Bullet Standard 500 , As per as the exhaust note is concerned Bullet scores it all the way. It still holds the old world charm ,but that's about it,. It takes ages to reach 60 kmph and forget about riding it at 100 kmph as you will die of vibration. ,This bike caters to a very specific set of people for whom grace and the name Royal Enfield takes priority over Convenience. ,I rode Bullet Standard 500 to ,Khardungla ,wherein, ,I felt a considerable loss of power at higher altitudes and it was getting difficult to churn out more 60 kmph. But the bike is a work horse and does what it suppose to do best ( ,Keep going, )in the price bracket. The bike is the closest what RE has to offer from the retro period, easy to fix like all RE’s and gives you instant feel of the old world and ohh boy!!! the exhaust note is ****ing unreal. Recently I did the a solo trip to Kashmir on Bullet 500 and it served me well apart from some of the tricky and dangerous road to Tosh Maidan where the tires were not helping me out and freaked me out at some point or the other. This happened for obvious reasons of tires being more road biased unlike the Himalayan. I had no issues as such throughout my journey. Journey’s covered On Bullet 500 : 1. Leh - Khardung La 2. Srinagar - Sonamarg - Zozila - Gulmarg -Tosh Maidan - Dudh Pathari - Pahalgam - Aru - Betab _ Srinagar Bullet Electra 350 I have ridden ,Electra 350 ,for a short duration. It looks and feel like the ,Standard 500 ,but, ,starts to vibrate beyond 80 kmph and will rattle you to your spine. ,Not meant for touring. Journey’s covered on Electra : 1. Pondicherry internal Classic 500 and Classic 350 Classic 350 and 500's UCE engine is a made like a tank and this bike has a great throttle response. The relatively quicker than Bullet and Thunderbird of the word go. The exhaust note is still better than that of the Thunderbird but nothing compared to that of the Bullet. I have done a 1100 km ride on it and the extra torque keeps you going all the way but going beyond 90 kmph will set you abuzz and with a soar butt. The spring load seat looks historical and is historical. A custom change to that of the Thunderbird's Seat will be great to have. Goa on Classic 350 Journey’s covered on Classic 500 and 350 : Bangalore - Pondicherry - Mahabalipuram - Chennai - Mahabalipuram - Bangalore North Goa and South Goa in a single trip Thuderbird 500 Thunderbird 500 is the most comfortable of the 3 on long rides. even shorter riders can also manage it. The highly cushione seats cups in your butt and holds you tight on sudden throttle changes as the RE 500's torquiiiii engine tends to throw you back a bit. ,The bike due to it low seating height and high front end tends to give you the lesser wind blast compared to the above 3,. I have had a bad experience with a Desert Storm and you will need to tightly hold on to the handle bars and that puts and lot of stress on to your palm , wrist, upper arm and bicep. On thunderbird the handle bar's comes naturally to your hand like how you would stretch your arms forward. Needs no effort what so ever. The feels the most stable bike in highways majorly because of it weight ,192 dry + 20 litres gas tank + 15 kilos luggage + 85 more kilos of me. A personal note : I felt a bit crooked on the bike and I was not in my most comfortable state, ,majorly because of my height of around 187 cm - 6′1″+ Journey’s covered on Thunderbird 500: 1. Bangalore - Madurai - Dhanuskodi - Kanyakumari - Kovalama - Varkala - Allepi - Kochi - Calicut - Wayanad - Mudumalai - Bandipur - Mysore - Bangalore Himalayan I recently had been on a Himalayan and ohh I had some experience ( in a good way ofcourse ). Lets talk about the looks first : Well its not the prettiest bike out their but then again it is subjective based on how it is being perceived by an individual. I personally like. The practicality ??? Hell yeah this is the best RE yet , comfirt has taken the front seat in the this bike, ergonomics are on the bullseye for long distance touring. ,Vibrations are very minimal, and one can ride it at speeds upto 115 kmph comfortably ,Yes you read it right — 115 kmph COMFORTABLY. ,No vibrations till 110 kmph and the bike can do 130 kmph (as per speedo) but it takes ages to reach there. ,The mid range is good and its the happiest between 3500 to 4500 RPMs. ,Torque is less compared to the 500 cc UCE engines so the once who are used to riding on TB 500 or Classic 500 can feel relative the lack of power. But then again this is the best tourer in the RE market and this bike offers an unmatched potential for offroading in this price bracket. Not to forget the best in in class adjustable wind protection which will help to get tired much later than you usually would do., Got any complaints yet ???? YES ,there are bad reviews about the bike. Parts are unavailable. parts fall of the bike while being on the ride. This is the first time in the Royal Enfield history that they need ads to sell a bike. That itself tells the story about Himalayan. No wonder Himalayan is an awesome bike but it may be worth a buy in the next upgraded version. At Hampi At Himanchal At Rajasthan Journey’s covered On Himalayan: 1. Bangalore - Hampi - Karvar - Gokarna - Murudeshwar - Jali - Jog - Sivamogga - Bangalore 2. Jaipur - Ajmer - Nagaur - Bikaner - Gajner - Jaisalmer - Sam Sand Dunes - Osian - Jodhpur - Mount Abu - Udaipur 2. Chandigadh - Shimla - Narkanda - Sangla - Chitkul - Reckong Peo - Kalpa - Ka (Couldnot do the spiti circuit because of landslides before Nako and Tabo so changed the route and did the following) - Rampur - Shiwad - Kothi - Jalori Pass ( extremely difficult road ) - Kullu - Kasol - Manikaran - Malana - Magic Valley - Prashar Lake - Jogindar Nagar - Bir Billing - Palampur - Kangra - Dharamshla - McLeodGanj - Dalhousie - Khajjiar - Pathankot - Amritsar - Ludhiana - Chandigadh Continental GT I have not yet ridden Continental GT yet. It has a all new 535 cc engine. Personally I am not a big fan of the bike but the bike pack in some premium goodies - Pirelli Sport Tyres, Brembo brakes , Paioli Shock Absorber. That's a sports bike content. Definetly this bike calls for the newer generation who wants to relieve the cafe racing classical moments. Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 I got a chance to ride this beauty for a day and I was able to cover around 250 km on. First impression is that it blew me off my feet with the sweetest possible refined engine from RE. The RE that we are so used to knowing till date has taken a huge leap ahead and is now aligned with the new age bikes on road. It’s surely is not a Kawasaki or Honda but the value for money is next to none. Now coming to the review of the bike. So what’s impressive about this bike : First thing’s first - ,Value for money,. There is no other 600+ cc bike in the market which can be bought at less than 2.8 lakhs Ex Showroom Delhi. Is there any ? The Refinement, : It’s at par with most of the high capacity bikes out there. The Classic look, : It’s an RE after all. THere is no doubt that this has the old world charm to it and rings the bell pretty nicely. The Exhaust, : The exhaust note is very RE , yet not very RE. This is the first twin cylinder offering from RE, and hence the distinctive smooth note. It has a good humming tune to it and when revved it comes alive. It sill holds onto the thump of an RE but it’s slightly on the milder end. The Acceleration, : For anyone upgrading to a bigger capacity bike for the first time, this bike is enough value for money in this department. All the while, we must keep in mind that the other bike’s in this segment is around double the price and hence the difference in acceleration. So no complains there. So what’s ,NOT SO ,impressive about this bike : The riding posture, : It is generally a comfortable upright posture, but I am 6′1″, so I had to bend a bit to get hold of the handle bar comfortably The wind blast ,: This bike an do 130 kmph almost through the day, But there is no wind protection at all. An after market wind shield is a must The uncomfortable seat, : When felt for the first time the seat seems to be very comfortable , as it’s quite soft and narrow. But on a long run the soft seat tends to squeeze flat and there are two rods as a part of the bikes frame which tend to dig in onto your inner thighs. An after market, relatively stiffer seat would be recommended. The fit n finish, : This bike in general has a good fit and finish. But I have noticed that the twin exhaust from the back doesnot look symmetric in terms of alignment. I have seen the same on multiple Interceptors on road. It’s a big turn off for me. So my verdict would be : 1. If you like the old world charm and a relaxed thumper --- Bullet 2. If you like the best of both world and don't mind customizing the exhaust and the seat -- Classic 3. If you want a cool , classy and dependable cruiser -- Thunderbird 4. If you want to look street smart - Continental GT. 5. If you want bike that look ugly (well subjective) but tops in all other departments - Himalayan (wait for the V2) 6. IF YOU LIKE NONE OF THE ABOVE, GO FOR THE BEST ONE AVAILABLE : INTERCEPTOR 650. Touring Capabilities (in decreasing order) Interceptor 650 > HIMALAYAN >> Thunderbird >> Standard 500 > Classic 500 > Electra > Continental GT Comfort on long rides with a back pack HIMALAYAN >>> Thunderbird >> Interceptor 650 > Standard > Electra > Classic 500 >> Continental GT 650 > Continental GT Braking Capabilities Interceptor 650 > Continental GT515 >> Thunderbird == Classic 500 > Himalayan > Standard > Electra Acceleration Interceptor 650 (== Continental GT 650 ) > Continental GT 515 > Thunderbird 500 > Classic 500 > Himalayan > > Standard > Electra #Cheers Thanks for the A2A #Edit 1 : Added Feedback on the Royal Enfield Himalayan as well. #Edit 2 : Added details about my journey on each of the bikes and images for the same #Edit 3 : Added details about my latest ride on Interceptor 650

How is the Hyundai Creta?

I purchased Hyundai Creta Petrol (Executive) in Mar’19. When you go through the Creta catalogue, you see a lot of attractive features, but will you get all those features? No, not all but few. Hyundai has launched many variants of Creta; Each has some stand apart features, but no version has got all those features. The Model I have purchased has following exclusive features, 1. ,Sunroof,: Entertaining for children if there is any among your family. ,(Need utmost care in using it as it can be dangerous if used carelessly)., 2. ,Ventilated seats,: It provides comfort during your long drive. Comes at a price of your home AC. 3. Rear View camera: Helps you park confidently. 4. Premium leather seat: Looks and feel premium. 5. ,Six air bags,: It is fitted with. 6. ,ESP,: It has Electronic stability program which might be working during sudden steer but not experienced so far. Heard that it is essential for SUV safety. 7. ,Good sound system,: It features an Arkamys Sound System to have ,localized, sound inside cabin. 8. ,Boot net,: Easy to carry a watermelon in dikki by holding it through boot net. It does not roll over during drive. 9. ,Smart Band,: I use this band now in place of my mi3 band. It gives freedom from carrying key. Smart band needs to be charged every 12 days interval. 10. ,Silent cabin,: You can have a decent conversation inside. You cannot tell if engine is running. My son told once few years back for some other car “Yes … Engine is running because rpm meter needle is not at zero” and that is the way I identify whether the engine of Creta is running. but it misses on many features such as, 1. ,No voice command,- You cannot call anyone through voice command. You need to stop your vehicle to call someone from your contact list. You can only call recent dialled number through pressing a button on steering twice. This is a big feature miss. No Hyundai have these features which is a common in S-Cross, Ford eco etc. 2. No Auto link- Creta catalogue have a dedicated page for auto link which will help monitor your vehicle health and driving pattern. But this is limited to Dual tone variant only. Creta Executive does not have this feature. A big miss again. 3. No child seat ISOFIX: This model does not have this. Only automatic transmission features ISOFIX child seat mount. Again, a big miss for Creta exec. Though traditional child seat can be mounted with help of seat belt. 4. No 60:40 split seat: If your child wants to play inside car then this one is a great feature. Even in case of three person and big luggage this feature helps. This is missing in Creta Executive. 5. No Remote boot opener- it is not there though featured in its catalogue. 6. ,No voice recognition for GPS,: A big miss again. You need to connect to Android auto for voice recognition. This does not work. System will always tell you " I couldn't understand but I can learn". Disappointing. GPS is not of any use; I use google map. Every time connecting with android auto is big hassle. 7. Low powered petrol version: Don't go by engine size. 1.6 litre petrol is fuel hungry but powerless especially when you climb an incline. Highest torque on 4800 rpm while normally you run your car in 1000–2000 rpm range. Imagine engine sound at 4800 rpm. Mileage less than 10 KM/L for city and around 15 KM/L for highway. 8. No light in vanity mirror: My wife always tells me why it is not there when other low budget cars have this. 9. No Auto retract rear view mirror on lock,:, Rear view mirror does not get retracted upon locking the vehicle this makes the ORVM damage prone. This feature is prevalent in other cars like i20. 10. Useless Mirror link: This is a feature for making Creta catalogue attractive, but this is useless. This comes on outdated phones which no one carry. Upon insisting, Hyundai sent an outdated phone model list of 2017 which supports mirror link. 11. ,No Tyre pressure monitoring system:, This is a good safety feature specially for them who fail to recognize if their Tyre has low or no air. This can prevent a lot of accident upon Tyre air leak. Missing features in Creta. Once I drove my old Car (Santro) around 2–3 Km without air in a tyre without noticing. Tyre burnt completely due to friction, but Thank God, I realised before any incident. 12. No 4-wheel drive: Though this is also not common in other cars as well. 13. Hill hold not of much use: This feature is not of much use as per my experience. I often drive-in hilly roads. It gives around 1 second hold to press accelerator when you leave brake at incline. I am not able to use it. 14. Need footstep to go inside car: For children and short height family members specially ladies. Footsteps need to be fitted by dealer at extra cost and it is prone to get rubbed in road dividers due to projected portion. It should be fitted only if essential. 15. Hard dashboard: it does not have soft touch dashboard. 16. No Aux Port- Yes. It does not feature aux port. I use Bluetooth to connect. 17. No Traction Control System (TCS): This model does not have it. TCS requires on slippery roads for acceleration by preventing free wheel spin. 18. Only Manual Transmission- Yes. Top model comes in only Manual. I considered manual as one of my friends told me that there is more chance of getting sleep while driving in case of automatic :). Advice worth considering. I noticed the issue of non-stop beep sound one day while I started the engine. Non-stop emergency beep sound reoccurred and service centre people took the car to service centre for further troubleshooting. They found issue with music system and they updated the software. They also replaced music system. Explore all suitable options and take test drives before purchasing Creta or any other car. Take time and visit showrooms. Do not rely much on car comparison sites. Update: I drove the car for more than a year now, Hyundai provides good after sales service. Till now It has proved to be a reliable companion during travel. Note- Hyundai has launched new version of Creta. After reading this review, you may go through the updated catalogue and ,find out, whether ,the features you value, are there in latest model.

Why was the Me109 still being produced at the end of the war? Wasn't it obsolete after the introduction of the FW190 and jet fighters such as the Me262?

The short answer is that the Me109 was much cheaper to produce than the other fighters, particularly the jets, and it was good enough for the job it was given, which — until the introduction of long-range fighters by the Americans and the deployment of the RAF to the Continent after D-Day — was shooting down unprotected bombers. The Me109 was quite good at that, even as a “Wilde Sau” night fighter. By the time its weaknesses mattered, Germany was not in a position to ramp up the production of the other aircraft in a significant way. Below a short summary of the Me109. The Me109 was the brain-child of Willi Messerschmitt, who had started his career in aviation as a glider designer. The Me109 inherited from Messerschmitt's glider designs wings with superior lift and an overall design that was streamlined and light. This design, however, created other problems. The wings were too delicate to carry eight machine guns, ammunition boxes or support the weight of the aircraft when on the ground. As a result a series of work-arounds had to be developed. Two machine guns fired from beside the engine cowling and two cannons were fitted on the wings rather than eight machine guns. Latter versions removed guns from the wings altogether and had cannons fired through the spinner of the propeller. Initially, the ammunition boxes were located in the fuselage and the guns fed by belts that stretched to the wingtips and back. The problem was the very narrow undercarriage, on the other hand, was never really solved and caused many accidents while taxiing and landing throughout the war. Furthermore, because the canopy was hinged and opened to the side, it could not be left open during take-off and landing; this meant the pilot could not look simply look around the long nose with the engine that blocked forward vision, he had to weave back and forth slightly to see where he was going. In the air, the Me109E fitted with a 1,000 hp engine was without doubt a superb fighter. At the duel between prototypes competing for the Luftwaffe contract in 1935, the Me109 preformed a spectacular series of spins and a power dive that blasted the competition right out of the game. It was easy to handle in and in the hands of an expert was extraordinarily maneuverable and agile. Fitted with fuel-injection engines, the Me109E had a maximum speed of 357 mph at 12,300 feet and a service ceiling of 36,000 feet -- substantially higher than that of its opponents in the Battle of Britain. Americans who test flew the Me109 before the start of the war (including Charles Lindbergh) considered it superior to any fighter aircraft the U.S. had at the time. Yet it had drawbacks in the air too. The canopy was made up of several panels fit into a metal frame and that created bars that blocked the pilot's vision -- that could be fatal in a dogfight. The Me109 could not be trimmed to fly straight and level, it required constant right ruder to counter the torque of the propeller. Although much is usually made of the turning radius of a fighter, in the Battle of Britain, the Me109E, the Hurricane and the Spitfire had technical radii so similar that it was the capabilities of pilot more than those aircraft that were the deciding factor in a dogfight. Pilots were more likely to black-out or stall in a tight turn than for the aircraft to fail. Experienced pilots with a better feel for their aircraft were able to push their machines closer to the latter's limit, while inexperienced pilots often stalled, lost consciousness or were unnecessarily afraid of tearing the wings off. Nevertheless, technically both the Spitfire and the Hurricane could out-turn the Me109, so in the hands of a skilled and confident pilot, this was a British advantage in the Battle of Britain. When all was said and done, the Me109s accounted for 3/4 of the 1,023 RAF fighters shot down in the Battle of Britain, Me110s, bombers and accidents accounting for the rest. Thus, on a fighter-to-fighter basis, the Me109 was the clear victor of the battle , shooting down 770 Spitfire and Hurricanes for losses of just 650 of their own number. As noted above, as a fighter deployed against unescorted bombers, it was even deadlier. With modifications, the Me109 remained in service throughout the Second World War. Indeed, nearly 34,000 Me109s were built, more than any other World War Two fighter. “Where Eagles Never Flew” shows the Battle of Britain from both sides of the Channel by following the fate of German characters as well as British ones. The leading German characters are pilots and women auxiliaries serving with an Me109 Gruppe in Northern France. How is the Ather 450 scooter?

Its really a good electric scooter to be taken into consideration, given the performance is par from any other scooters, it accelerates quick and has a torque output of 20Nm which even 200cc bikes dont match up in figures. Fit and finish is top notch and also comes with a reverse gear and dual disc brakes. though its bit expensive but a 1 time investment and other subscriptions free for over a year tenure.

Can you give a transparent review of Tesla cars and other EVs?

I have driven many EVs and own several Tesla’s. As with everything there are pros and cons, and only you can judge if an EV is suitable to your needs. All are quiet. Torque is plentiful and immediate so they are fairly zippy. Renault Kangoo ZE: very small battery (22kWh). Practical, decent rear space, but very limited in power and range. It’s appropriate to deliver mail and small parcels in a neighborhood. BMW i3: small car, seats four. Nice handling. Carbon fiber chassis will be expensive for repairs. Suicide doors. Can be had with or without gas-powered range extender. Jaguar I-Pace: superb car. Wow handling. Powerful, very elegant fit and finish, superior to Tesla. It’s lacking however in charging abilities (single phase only, whereas in Europe we have three phase current). There is 100kW DC fast charging through. Energy usage is high which limits range. Tesla Roadster Sport: body designed by Lotus based on the Elise. RWD. Very small trunk just able to fit a few grocery bags. Fabulous handling. Good range but no fast charging, and only single phase AC. Takes lots of planning, better not be in a hurry. Tesla Model S: That’s a great sedan. Huge trunk and front trunk space, handles better than anything on snow and ice. Superb performance also. I do not like the low windshield. Tesla Model X: like the S, heavier and higher, without the windshield issue. Rear doors are very showy, but work well. Just be careful in areas with low ceilings. Tesla Model 3: fast, agile, super fast charging and very efficient. Hard to beat this is a benchmark for all cars today, electric or not. It’s competitive with BMW 3’s and will give a Porsche 911 GT2 RS à run for the money. Great value. However the interior finishing in the trunk area could be better. No big deal. I’ll let you know about the e-tron and Taycan when I get my paws on them.

Which sports bike should you buy under Rs 1.5 lakhs?

We all have watched the movie ,Dhoom,, and have wanted to ride like John Abraham. But, lets face the truth, our Indian road and traffic will not support those motorcycles. So, how can you fulfill your dream? Well, to ensure all your needs, you need to check the following requirements before you zap on the road- Safety - I think this is more important than any other features of a motorcycle. Looks - Depends on the person Power and Torque Better Visibility at night Comfortable seat Good fuel economy Light weight Built to last By looking at the above list, I believe only one motorcycle fits in best, the ,Bajaj Pulsar rs 200,. Packing features like ,ABS, (Anti-lock Breaking System), twin projector head lamps, sporty looks,, 24.5 bhp and 18.6 nm of torque,, and with six gears, giving you a better top-end, Pulsar rs 200 should be a good choice for you. Now, again it is your money and choice, you can always compare this motorcycle against any other in the market. But, being a biased reviewer, I would definitely recommend you to go for this one. Have a great day and drive safe!
