A new player in Malaysia's EV game? That's a nice thought, but this 2023 Nissan Ariya seen earlier this morning spells something different rather than obviously hinting at its imminent launch. Blending in with regular traffic – sans camo and conspicous blue trade plates – this SUV is likely to be an internal evaluation unit, used among staff in the meantime. It's not a rare occurence, Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) themselves have a Note e-Power that is registered as usual but not for sale just y

Nissan in the United States has become the first Japanese carmaker to plug in to the North American Charging Standard (NACS), opening access to its customers to the wide-spanning, fast-charging Tesla Supercharger network. The agreement with Tesla sees that from 2024, NACS charging adapters will be fitted to the Ariya EV, while the ports will be installed in Nissan EVs for the United States and Canadian markets beginning 2025. Part two of our three-parter on SUVs coming to Malaysia in 2023 revolves around electric vehicles (EVs). Last week we talked about regular, pure-ICE models, and if that's more your swing here's the link. Plug in your chargers, we're going in... The Nissan Ariya, the all-electric big crossover SUV brother to the seminal Nissan Leaf undergoes a series of very rigorous crash tests to ensure it possesses high levels of safety in the event of a collision. According to Nissan, it takes 1/1000th of a second for a Nissan crash test vehicle to fulfill its role. That’s a literal “blink-and-you’ll-miss” moment that we can’t possibly describe unless one is secretly donning a red suit with a lightning bolt. However, there is one bright spark that p

By now you would have seen the world premiere of the Nissan Ariya. This is Nissan’s first all-electric crossover SUV. That said, I couldn't help but notice that Nissan also took this opportunity to show to the world its brand-spanking-new logo. There are two logos - corporate and brand. The brand logo looks unchanged at a glance, but details are different. In line with what appears to be the current trend with car brand logos, Nissan's new corporate insignia has gone all 2D and flat, while the br

These leaked patent of the all-new 2021 Nissan Ariya from China’s patent and trademark office reveals the production version of the exterior design, likely as a fully electric crossover. The potential Murano replacement model kinda looks like the all-new Toyota Harrier recently launched in Japan, no?
