A new player in Malaysia's EV game? That's a nice thought, but this 2023 Nissan Ariya seen earlier this morning spells something different rather than obviously hinting at its imminent launch.

Blending in with regular traffic – sans camo and conspicous blue trade plates – this SUV is likely to be an internal evaluation unit, used among staff in the meantime. It's not a rare occurence, Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) themselves have a Note e-Power that is registered as usual but not for sale just yet.

However, maybe it will hit showrooms someday, given that it was teased in a video last year. Time will tell...

2023 Nissan Ariya specs

This particular car's specs is unclear, though there's a choice of two different powertrains in Japan:

e-4ORCE is Nissan's electric all-wheel drive system. The Ariya itself sits on a bespoke electric platform, called the CMF-EV.
