New 2020 Perodua Bezza vs 2017 Bezza - What's new?

Here to fight the recently-updated Proton Saga, the new 2020 Perodua Bezza is here to defend Perodua’s domination in the A-segment sedan market.

Let’s take a close look at what has Perodua added to the new Bezza.

The new Bezza now looks less happy, more angry

Up front, the new Bezza gains a redesigned front end, featuring sharper-looking LED headlamps (previously halogen headlamps) flanking an equally new grille.

The front bumper has also been redesigned to incorporate an “X” motif, and is surrounded by a pair of prominent front fog light surround on each end.

Dual-tone wheels are the rage

Towards the sides, the new Bezza gains dual-tone side skirts for all variants, plus the inclusion of 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels on 1.3-litre variants.

Perodua embraces the large diffuser trim trend

As for the rear end of the new Bezza, it gets a revamped rear bumper featuring a deeper rear diffuser and prominent rear trim pieces and a new chrome and black strip that connects both tail lights.

Changes are more subtle inside – although the dashboard design has remained largely identical, the new Bezza loses much of the glossy black finishing.

In its place, the new Bezza gains a new silver trim that is reminiscent of the Aruz

Meter now looks sportier, but still just as easy-to-read

The new Bezza also gains an updated meter cluster, a new head unit (still no Android Auto or Apple CarPlay) and new red stitching on the seats (AV variant).

Perodua has also added two new colours for the Bezza - Garnet Red (1.3L models only) and Granite Grey. These 2 new colours will join Sugar Brown, Ocean Blue, Glittering Silver, and Ivory White as colour options for the new Bezza.

As for safety, Perodua has expanded stability control in all 1.3-litre variants of the new Bezza, including on the 1.3 X variant; it was previously limited to the 1.3 Advance.

Similar to the updated Axia, the top-spec Bezza 1.3 AV also gains a new reverse camera.

Stereo cameras that help keep an eye on the road. Forgive the pun.

Furthermore, what makes the new Bezza enticing is the inclusion of Perodua’s Advanced Safety Assist 2.0 (ASA 2.0) ADAS suite on the 1.3 AV AT variant, which includes Pre-Collision Warning, Pre-Collision Braking, Front Departure Alert, and Pedal Misoperation Control.

Toyota's Kinto is getting bored, finds a way to make the AH30 Alphard and Vellfire sliding doors close faster

You know how some cars can be truly fantastic except for one minor detail that you just can’t overlook and it ends up ruining the entire driving experience. It could be a terrible head unit or a bad seating position. Well, some of the engineers at Toyota’s Kinto subscription service thought that could be the abysmally slow speed of the sliding doors on the previous AH30 generation of the Toyota Alphard and Vellfire. Either that or they must be getting really bored over there. Or someone has secr

Review: BYD Dolphin in Malaysia - A solid choice for EV beginners, except for one thing

You might be aware that Malaysia prohibits the import of electric vehicles (EVs) priced below RM 100,000, and this is indeed accurate. The rationale behind this policy, driven by the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry (MITI), is actually sound when you consider their goal of attracting investments in the EV sector. In the world of technology, most of the valuable stuff is in the higher-end product range. Cheaper electric cars have minimal technological sophistication; they're kind of li
