The keyboard warriors demanded it and Toyota has finally given them what they’ll never be able to afford; a manual Toyota Supra. Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) is getting ready to roll out an enhanced Supra but the most important bit is the proper manual transmission for the RZ trim level with plans in place for deliveries to commence this year.
Apart from the 6-speed manual and 3 pedals in the footwell, Toyota has however included auto-throttle blipping on downshifts because a surprising number of us can’t grasp the concept of heel-toe downshifting.

The refreshed Supra RZ will also be blessed with handling and ride comfort improvements across the entire range that comprises adaptive variable suspension (AVS) control and retuned damping for better roll balance and ride comfort. Toyota has even made the entire car more involving at the limit by tweaking with the chassis control systems (AVS, power steering, stability control).
If those wheels look mighty familiar, it’s because they’ve been inspired by the units from the GR Yaris. The 19-inch forged aluminum wheels with cross-sectional shapes for lighter weight and higher rigidity add up to weight reduction of 1.2 kg per wheel; itself compounding towards a reduction in unsprung weight.

While the option of properly shifting your own gears is the highlight here, Toyota weren’t about to be half-assed and not tighten up everything else for a better driving experience.
