Video: 2019 Toyota C-HR Review, why is it so expensive?!

That's our Toyota C-HR review vedio. The Toyota C-HR was launched in Malaysia in March 2018. It subsequently went through a minor update in 2019 with better features and revised styling.

Prior to the launch, the public was seriously hyped up for the Toyota C-HR following UMW Toyota Motor's extensive campaign for the SUV. I still remember clearly the amount of attention the Toyota C-HR got when it first made its public preview at the 2017 Carlist.my Test, Drive and Buy event.

Toyota C-HR Price

Unfortunately, its hefty asking price of RM 146k then (now updated 2019 Toyota C-HR price RM 150,000) was just too much to swallow. Simply because everyone was expecting the Toyota C-HR to be priced in the same league as the Honda HR-V.

However, after spending some time with the Toyota C-HR for a test drive review, we came to understand that you can't take the C-HR's price and specification list at face value.

Competitors of the Toyota C-HR

Look at it this way, a Porsche 911 is crazy expensive, but fans would still blow a million Ringgit on one because it makes them feel good. The C-HR's value proposition is a little bit like a 911.

Toyota C-HR Engine Performance

The Toyota C-HR rides on the highly sophisticated Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform that promises high safety rating, advanced technologies and exciting driving dynamics.

Fun fact, the sexy Lexus LC Coupe which rides on the Lexus Global Architecture-L, is derived from the TNGA platform.

Don't let the 2ZR-FBE 1.8-litre naturally-aspirated 4-cylinder Dual VVT-i petrol engine and CVT automatic combo put you off.

Its 140 PS and 171 Nm output is more than sufficient to keep up with all your enthusiastic driving needs.

After watching this Toyota C-HR review, do you think that the Toyota C-HR is still expensive?

Toyota's Kinto is getting bored, finds a way to make the AH30 Alphard and Vellfire sliding doors close faster

You know how some cars can be truly fantastic except for one minor detail that you just can’t overlook and it ends up ruining the entire driving experience. It could be a terrible head unit or a bad seating position. Well, some of the engineers at Toyota’s Kinto subscription service thought that could be the abysmally slow speed of the sliding doors on the previous AH30 generation of the Toyota Alphard and Vellfire. Either that or they must be getting really bored over there. Or someone has secr

Review: BYD Dolphin in Malaysia - A solid choice for EV beginners, except for one thing

You might be aware that Malaysia prohibits the import of electric vehicles (EVs) priced below RM 100,000, and this is indeed accurate. The rationale behind this policy, driven by the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry (MITI), is actually sound when you consider their goal of attracting investments in the EV sector. In the world of technology, most of the valuable stuff is in the higher-end product range. Cheaper electric cars have minimal technological sophistication; they're kind of li
