It's Guangzhou Autoshow season again, and that means we'll be bringing you live photos of cool and quirky cars seen there. One of them is this 2021 Toyota Allion - which cuts a rather familiar figure.
The Allion looks familiar to you because it's a spitting image of the Toyota Corolla Altis we have in Malaysia.
Yes, both ride on the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform, but the Allion is a slightly more luxurious, long-wheelbase (LWB) version.
Here's how the Allion measures up against our Corolla Altis:
2021 Toyota Allion vs Corolla Altis | ||
---|---|---|
Dimensions (mm) | Toyota Allion | Toyota Corolla Altis |
Length | 4,720 | 4,630 |
Width | 1,780 | 1,780 |
Height | 1,435 | 1,435 |
Wheelbase | 2,750 | 2,700 |
The interior is also pretty identical to the Malaysian-market Corolla Altis but with small, sophisticated touches like dual-tone grey finishing.
Powering the Allion is a 2.0-litre, naturally-aspirated, four-cylinder engine making 178 PS and 210 Nm of torque, paired to a CVT.
Moving the sedan along are 18-inch wheels shod in Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres. Good stuff!
So what do you think? Does the Allion capture all your attention? Let us know!
While the Allion is a cool car, don't hold your breath waiting for it come to Malaysia. The closest we have to it is the Corolla Altis and if you're in the market for a C-segment sedan, it's worth a look. Read our review here!
