First shipment of the 2021 Toyota Corolla Cross 1.8V is in Malaysia, MCO postpones deliveries

The 2021 Toyota Corolla Cross was launched in Malaysia roughly three months ago. At launch, UMW Toyota (UMWT) only offered the Corolla Cross 1.8G variant, with the more expensive 1.8V variant to come at a later date.

For those who booked the Corolla Cross 1.8V earlier, here’s some good news for you.We understand that the shipment of the Corolla Cross 1.8V has arrived. 

While deliveries of the Corolla Cross 1.8V was initially scheduled to start in July, the nationwide lockdown has put that plan on ice.

To recap, prices of the Toyota Corolla Cross start from RM 124,000 for the 1.8G variant, while the range-topping variant costs RM 129,266. Both prices are with the 50-percent SST discount for new imported (CBU) which is valid until 31-December 2021.

While both variants share a naturally-aspirated 1.8-litre petrol engine (139 PS, 172 Nm) mated to a CVT-type automatic, the difference lies in equipment. The upper variant adds automatic Bi-LED headlights, LED tail lights, larger 18-inch alloy wheels, and crucially, the Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) ADAS suite.

Local assembly (CKD) of the Toyota Corolla Cross will happen later this year, subject to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic situation.
