Not wanting to be left behind, VinFast is also hopping onto the voice command scene, but unlike traditional car makers, they've done so with a twist – by hiring a famous news castor Hoai Anh.
Hoai Anh will lend her voice to ViVi – VinFast's upcoming in-car AI-powered voice assistant.
According to Vingroup’s research arm, Big Data Research Institute (VinBigdata), ViVi will be deployed not just on future VinFast models, but also other Vingroup subsidiaries. As a refresher, Vingroup is Vietnam’s largest conglomerate, covering areas such as real estate, retail, resorts, education, and medical.
Now, like any other in-car AI-powered voice assistant that is worth their salt, VinBigdata said that ViVi is able to control various aspects of a vehicle, including air-conditioning, navigation, and even searching for information – just like you would with Siri or Google.
Just like how Proton’s voice assistant has been adapted to understand our Malaysian English, ViVi is able to understand Vietnamese right out of the box. Its Vietnamese comprehension is 98% accurate, while error rate for voice recognition is less than 6% with a network connection and 15% without network connection.
In an effort to improve ViVi’s comprehension and accuracy, VinBigdata has been training it with a lot of questions and answers, with people reading about 200 sentences under different situations.
At the moment, VinFast is testing ViVi on the Lux SA2.0 – an SUV based on the F15-generation BMW X5, albeit with VinFast’s input on interior and exterior design.
