Perodua's expansion of its export business now includes Bangladesh, with the Malaysian carmaker inking a partnership with ex-Proton partners PHP Motors.
For now, the range includes four models: the Aruz, Axia, Bezza, and Myvi. Managing Director of PHP Motors, Mohammed Akhter Pravez, added that the company will be assembling the models in their Chattogram factory, while working on bringing the full range of Perodua models to Bangladesh.
The named models will begin sales there by the end of this month.
With this partnership, Perodua's export portfolio now includes 7 countries after Mauritius, Seychelles, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Brunei, and Fiji. 8, if you include Indonesia, which sells the made-in-Rawang Myvi as the Daihatsu Sirion.
Meanwhile, Perodua also exports spare parts to the UK, Malta, and Nepal.
Perodua also has an overarching goal for this year to increase its exports by 79%, growing from 1,094 units in 2023 to 1,960 units in 2024.
