honda kubota Q&A Review

Which company makes the best small engines for applications like lawn mowers, power washers, roto tillers, etc.?

Honda is the best for a small engine, scag, Kubota, and Toro for lawn mower, Troy Bilt is best for rototillers, pressure washer Northern Tool with Honda engine and Cat pump.

What mowers do professionals use for their lawns?

Professionals prefer using commercial lawn mowers, purchasing commercial mower requires careful consideration. A commercial mower is generally crafted from higher quality, more costly materials to extend mower’s lifespan and overall extending its performance rate. The cutting decks are constructed from higher grade material to reduce chance of clumping plus enhancing blade speed. The engines are of high quality plus horsepower with two cylinders and better displacement. Durability is one of the greatest and turns out to be significant for consumer interested in his return on original investment. The range of commercial brands that professionals opt to use include quality brands like- 1) John Deere 2) Kubota 3) Honda and 4) Ever Ride. Following are the features for the above quality products: >The diesel is liquid cooled and provide thirty-one horse power, as well riding speed of seventeen miles per hour, with blade speed of eighteen thousand. >It makes commercial landscaping engine which are quiet, dependable and fuel-efficient power as well with steel bottom and hydro-static transmission. >Fury is a powerful lawn mower which can handle any type of mowing challenge. It is an affordable and powerful lawn mower which offers a ride like no other. Visit : http://plentymowers.com.au/

Why does it seem like so many people on Quora live in Los Angeles? What is there to do there (besides Hollywood/film industry)?

I would be surprised to find here any A-listers, big-time producers producers or blockbuster movies directors. As for the rest of us in LA, the city and its environs have the same kind of jobs as any other place. The neighborhood were I live located close to LAX airport and therefore has a number of airspace manufacturers. Tourism and real estate are two big industries here. We have a very large refinery nearby. Oil is a very large industry in LA area. IT is quite big in LA as well. My neighborhood is home to many American headquarters of various large and small Japanese companies such as Honda, Kubota, Seiko and Citizen. LA port is not too far either. Between three counties that comprise a greater LA area there are probably more than fifty colleges and universities, LA Unified as well. Therefore, hundreds of thousands of people are work in education. When schools are not in session, highways are almost empty. And of course studious. Just near my home there are Disney studios. Many years ago I met Roy E. Disney, son of Walt, there.

What is a stand that you took with a customer that you will never apologize for?

I took sides with the customer against my boss once, does that count? I was a service manager in a dealership that sold and serviced multiple types and brands of vehicles including Kubota tractors and John Deere lawn equipment. It was the worst job I ever loved! We also had Honda, Suzuki and other brands of motorcycles and ATV’s. Please don’t take this as a boast, I am very skilled in customer service. A local businessman purchased a new Kubota Tractor and seemed happy with it. Unfortunately, when he received a buyers survey from the manufacturer, he scored his purchase and the dealership poorly on all elements. Knowing my customer service acumen, the dealership owner asked me to contact the customer to see why he was angry. When I called him, The customer was cordial and quickly explained that the survey had nothing to do with the new Kubota. Seems sometime in the past, prior to my taking the service manager position, he had brought his John Deere mower to our shop for service. Shortly after he picked it up, it stopped running correctly and when he returned it for repair, my predecessor had charged him to repair a cross-threaded spark plug which our technician had installed. I offered to return his money for the repair, but he declined indicating it was not the money, it was the principal of the matter. Next I offered to service the mower for free since it was due for preventative maintenance. He accepted. I went myself that same day and picked up the mower, promising to return it completed the following day. He declined that offer, insisting he would come pick it up to make sure it met his approval. The customers mower was finished early the following morning. I called the customer who indicated he would come that afternoon when his day was over. Meanwhile, the dealership owner (Jim) overheard me tell the customer (Bill) that he owed nothing for the service, a $100 value. Jim came unglued. “Heck, we can’t give away free service, we’ll go broke”! He stormed away muttering something about taking the cost of the service out of my pay. Bill showed up at the time he promised with a trailer behind his truck, presumably to haul his mower home. I watched him start the mower, pointed to an area of grass he could cut to make sure it cut as desired. Bill made a few passes to his satisfaction, then parked his mower and thanked me. I offered to load his mower but he declined. He then went inside the showroom seemingly very satisfied with my resolution to his complaint. An hour later I was at my desk and Jim came in and stood beside my desk with an apologetic look on his face. He told me he was sorry for doubting me, and that he would never question my customer service decisions again. Bill had come inside to compliment me in handling his complaint to Jim, and he traded his small John Deere mower for an $18,000 Kubota zero-turn. A few weeks later, Jim called me to his office and showed me another customer service satisfaction survey he had just received. It was from Bill on his new mower, and it was stellar. In customer comments he included more praise for me and indicated if I ever got tired of motor sports that he had a place for me in his business.

What is a "side by side" vehicle and what companies will make them?

A side by side is a 2-person (or 4) ATV or small off-road vehicle that has seating similar to a car. Some manufacturers are Polaris, Kawasaki, Kubota, Honda, Yamaha and others. They allow friends to share off-roading without needing to have more than 1 ATV. Side by sides often have cargo-carrying capability for camping and hunting. Shown in the pic is a Polaris model, with seating for 4.

Are John Deer Tractors just as good as Kubota?

This can be a very personal and emotional response. Sort of asking if you prefer Pepsi or Coke Cola. Especially if the question asked who makes a better tractor (in North America), John Deere or Case-IH as these are the two big boys in the market. Trailing them in third is AGCO (Challenger, Fendt, Massey Fergueson, etc). Each of these companies has bought out many other tractor companies and merged them into their company over the years (John Deere more in their earlier life and Case-IH and AGCO a bit later). Kubota is an up and coming tractor company from Japan (John Deere is US Owned, Case-IH has many US roots but are European owned now and AGCO is a US buy-out of part of an European company. Kubota is probably the next most capable competitor to the big three above but is a very distinct fourth in size and sales. All of the above three companies offer a full line of farm equipment, construction, other lines, and a full line of tractors from sub-compact to full-size four wheel drive tractors. Kubota started on the small end and has only recently, in the last five years, started to offer what I would call medium size tractors (up to 150 horse power or so). The largest tractors on the market now are over 400 (and some up to 600) horsepower. Thus, the question on who builds a better tractor between John Deere and Kubota difficult to answer. In terms of who builds a better full range of tractors it would be John Deere of course (as Kubota doesn’t even compete in many of the tractor sizes). In terms of who sells more tractors again the answer would be (in North America) John Deere, even in head-to-head competition in specific tractor sizes. If we look at those tractor sizes which are comparable between John Deere and Kubota you also have to make sure you are comparing apples to apples. Are the tractors equipped the same (transmission, hydraulic options, PTO options, etc.), same size and type of tire options, etc. One a direct one-for-one comparison of a tractor equipped exactly the same, then the tractors are going to perform pretty similar and the winner would come down to personal preference. Generally (and again your mileage may vary) the market considers John Deere to on the higher end of the scale (i.e. Cadillac) for tractors and some one like Kubota to be the lower end (i.e. Honda). John Deere generally has more available options, higher-end transmission options, able to get more automation, technology, etc on their tractors, more hydraulic options/circuits, etc. John Deere has also been building tractors for far longer than almost anyone and they have an extensive dealer network across North America for parts and service. Generally Kubota has been acknowledged by the market to build decent tractors that are generally a little cheaper than the big three tractor companies. John Deere, to compete against this, has for about the last ten years or so, offered their tractors in different fit-out levels as follows: R Series - top end tractor with most options and most expensive M Series - medium end tractor with common options needed for every-day work and medium price range E Series - basic tractor with only the basic options and priced lower accordingly. For the large-frame row-crop tractors you can only get them in the R series generally. For medium row-crop tractors you can get R or M; and utility and compact tractors you can get E, M or R.

If for all practical purposes electric vehicles replace fossil fuel vehicles, will anyone still use fossil fuel vehicles recreationally?

“Fossil Fuel Vehicles” can be a broad brush of vehicles. From getaway 4x4s to huge motor homes. When A motor home gets its extension cord , (for driving it) then the only bits left will be the small engine manufcturers such as Honda, Kubota and Stiel. Along with them are the snowmobiles, and Jet -skies. I dont see a jet ski becoming All electric soon
